She looked down at the salamander thoughtfully before raising her hand to place him on her head. The orange brought out the red in her curls, and the salamander settled quickly, his eyes watching Francis warily.
She laughed and then adopted a casual tone. "Me? Oh, no. Same old, same old. I did add some salamander oil, though. Do you like it?"
"Thank you, my darling," she said, leaning over to kiss him. As their lips touched, the salamander made its move, sneaking onto Francis' head stealthily. Poppy pulled away, squinted at him, and then laughed. "Francis," she said. "I don't know what it is, but I am crazy attracted to you today. Did you do something different?"
He seemed confused, then noticed the salamander was no long in her hair. "Oh.. I think I used some of the salamander oil you had."
