Poppy gave him a look of complete disgust. "What... is wrong with you? I am very much in love with my fiance, who happens to be your brother!"
He shrugged. "Eh. You never know. I mean, he only brought one other girl before, and I didn't even have to offer."
She squinted at him, and when she spoke, her voice was dangerously quiet and her eyes flashed threateningly in the gloom. Her gaze was cold, and for a moment, she looked very sinister indeed. "That woman," she said quietly, her voice sharp, "has tried, on multiple occasions, to ruin your brother's life through insane schemes. You hooked up with a psychopath. I know that it's about as good as you can get, so congratulations."
Poppy sighed, and squeezed the bridge of her nose, leaning against the wall. She waited for Francis, desperately missing him in that moment.
He returned not long after, a bright smile on his face as he didn't notice her expression. "I told them."
She looked up at him, a conflicted expression on her face before slipping her arms around his torso and hugging him tightly.
She bit her lip as she debated with herself. "Your brother just asked for me to meet up with him tonight and... have fun."
She cleared her throat, clearly uncomfortable with the whole situation. "Yeah. Yeah. He wanted me to meet him later tonight.."
He glanced at her, kissing her cheek before taking her hand to lead her up the stairs. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that."
