"See you soon," she said with a nod, closing her door and heading into her apartment. She turned slightly as she reached the door and gave him a small wave.
Poppy was curled up on the couch, reading a botany book. Old music played out of her speakers, and she tugged on a lock of hair as she thought.
Francis opened the door, checking his watch as he did so. He looked at Poppy with a small smile. "Hey.. I hope you don't mind that I didn't knock."
Poppy looked up with surprise, and a slow smile spread across her face. "Not at all," she said, closing her book. "I missed you."
He smiled. "I missed you too," he said, readjusting a small bag hanging from his shoulder. "I hope I didn't take too long."
She stood up, wrapping a blanket around her shoulders, and walked over to him. Slipping her arms around his waist, she rested her head on his shoulder. "You didn't. I'm really glad you're here," she said quietly. "Are you tired?"
The music played gently in the background, and she looked up at him with a small smile. "Good," she said quietly. "Can I take your bag? I have a coat rack."
"Mmhm," she said, pulling away and padding over to the front door, her blanket trailing on the wooden floor. She hung the bag up and returned to him. "You probably want to get to bed, right? You've been working awfully hard."
She watched him carefully, her hands cupping his neck gently. She reached up and kissed him, her blanket slipping off her shoulders. "You're always the first priority for me, Craw," she murmured.
