"Historical artifacts," Poppy said. "Original manuscripts, letters, pictures, recordings, that sort of thing."
"He was," Poppy said with a nod. "The world threw so much crap at him, and he kept persevering. Did you know that his dad abused him? He wanted his son to be the next Mozart, so he would come home from the tavern, completely drunk, and wake up five-year-old Beethoven and force him to play. If he made any mistakes, his father would slam the piano lid down on his fingers."
"His dad was awful," Poppy agreed quietly. "And then, Beethoven went to Vienna to study music, and his mother died, and so he had to leave his studies and take care of his brothers because his dad wouldn't stop drinking the money away."
