She didn't notice, apparently deep in thought, until she came right up to him. She looked up, and her eyes were deeply troubled, looking half her normal size. "Hey."
She watched him before slipping her arms around his neck and burying her head in his shoulder, her curls tickling him slightly. "This is real, right? It isn't just a reckless decision."
She nodded slightly before pulling away. "Okay. Okay. I'm..." She sighed. "I'm sorry I left you alone in there. I was just..." She trailed off, unsure how to finish.
She kissed him back, momentarily distracted by his mouth. She paused when they pulled away and sighed, clearly troubled. "What if he's right, though?"
"No," she said immediately. "No, I don't. But maybe I'm just blind or naive or..." She sighed in frustration, trying to think of the right word. "Or something."
"You're not," he told her sternly. "We haven't had any problems since we've gotten together, and I'm positive that I'm in love with you, so there's no need to worry."
She looked up with a slight smile. "No problems," she said, "except for the occasional six-month disappearance."
"Makes sense," she agreed, her hands coming up to cup his face. A slight frown crossed her face. "Wait... when did you say you needed to be at work?"
