(Yay!) "Nope, it's room 9. You definitely heard wrong. Besides, there's no loopiness, remember?" (Francis is gonna be so much fun to do loopy)
"When you spend almost a week with a person," Poppy said, cocking her head, "you learn to tell when they're lying. I'll be there." (It'll be so funny, oh my goood)
"I'll talk to a few people," she said. "Call in a few favors." In that moment, Evan entered the room. He made eye contact with Poppy for a moment before sitting down across the room. Poppy frowned at Francis. "This is your fault."
"I was trying to avoid that conversation entirely," she muttered, resting her head on her hands. "I think your little stunt made him think that you were the reason why, for God's sakes."
"That was towards the end of the conversation. You must have heard a majority of it," she said, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I cannot believe you are getting joy out of this." At that moment, the food was served; various soups, loafs of bread, and vegetables were passed around the table.
"Oh, I heard everything." He picked up a piece bread an pointed it at her. "You must know I get joy from people misery."
"Ah, yes, of course. How could I forget?" Poppy responded dryly, taking some carrots from the plate. "We'll just see how it works when you need me to cover for your romantic endeavors."
"My romantic endeavors? Why, Ms. Abernathy, I have no interest in those, so I guess that's too bad," he teased her, finally taking a bite of his bread.
"Oh, of course. I forgot. You're above all that," she said sarcastically, ladling out some sort of vegetable soup.
"I have too much class and too much sass," he said jokingly, once again making an attempt at understanding the technology of his watch.
She just stared at him for a moment, speechless. "I cannot believe you just said that," she said finally, taking a sip of her soup. "What's wrong with your watch?"
"Most of it is voice commands," she said, peering over at his wrist curiously. "What are you trying to get it to do?"
He looked back up at her frantically. "Anything!" he said, removing it from his wrist and placing it on the table. "I seriously don't understand it at all."
"There, there," she said soothingly, a laugh creeping in at the edge of her voice. "I won't let the scary watch hurt you." She picked it up and squinted at it, pressing the screen a few times. "Oh, I see what your problem is," she said. "You haven't activated your A.I. Here, tell it your name." She held the watch out to him and looked at him expectantly.
He leaned away from the watch. "Is.. Is there a real person?" (Francis is really garbage with technology. Hopefully, I can make him show a few examples haha)
