"Hmph," she said wryly, returning to the table. "You're going to have to help me, then. I was a vegetarian up until about...six months ago."
"Oh, yeah. For 16 years. I had to stop, though. Apparently, my protein intake was damaging my ability to gain muscle."
She paused, glancing up at him with a slight smile. "There's a lot you don't know about me," she teased.
"Oh, lots of things. Did you know that I took dance lessons until I was about 13? I hated it. Clara loved it, but I hated it. Too much poise was required. I don't know if you know this, but I'm not exactly elegant."
"Hm," she murmured, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I once broke a classmate's nose in high school."
He ran his hand through his hair sheepishly. "I'm not the most interesting person, Poppy. You already know most things about me."
She raised her eyebrow, rubbing the back of his neck. "You, Francis Craw, not interesting? I call bull, my darling. You're crazy interesting."
"Only because I've figured them out already. I'm a scientist. It's my job to figure out things about subjects."
