Poppy walked over to the electric kettle, turning it on with a flick of her finger. She rubbed the back of her neck before returning to the bedroom, slipping back under the warm covers.
She was quiet, not knowing that he was awake. Eventually, her watch beeped, alerting her to the water and she slipped out of his arms to go grab it.
She was quiet for a moment, her head tilted slightly. Eventually, she crawled across the bed to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. “You seem to take a lot of days off for me.”
He sighed softly, relaxing under her arms. "If not you, then why else? There's no other reasons to take time off."
“New bakery opens up down the street,” she suggested. “Your family wants you home for the holidays. Finn needs his bowl cleaned. All very good reasons to take a day off of work.”
“Craw, are you honestly telling me that you wouldn’t take a day off of a bakery opened up next door?”
