"From my understanding, you're both being ridiculous," he said sternly. "I would get her right now, but she's asleep."
He sighed and he frowned at Francis. “Please understand, I have nothing against you. It’s just... I feel like this is ridiculous.”
"I dont want to start this conversation again, Phos," he said roughly. "We both understand that you disagree."
“Yes. I think you might. You’re both too lovestruck to know any better, but look at you two, Francis! You have two completely different histories.”
Francis sat down on a step, his hand gripping the railing. "And why does history have to do anything with this? History is the past. It shouldn't matter."
“You’ve been brought up in wealth and she hasn’t. Her career is in healing and yours was in harming. She’s never had someone like you before and you were hung up on another woman no less than 6 months ago!”
Francis was quiet. "I know I don't deserve her. She's.. too good for me. I know. I also know that this is a good choice, okay? I'd rather not argue about it."
Phos sighed irritably. “I’m not saying you’re not good enough for her. I’m just saying that you haven’t thought this through. Strong, long-lasting love doesn’t just happen st the drop of a hat. What happens when the next ‘Poppy’ comes along? The next person that you think you’ll love forever?”
"Vivienne was the only other one," he replied sharply. "She wasn't good. Poppy is the only one.. I don't want to talk about this."
Phos’ eyes narrowed as he frowned. “And yet you thought Vivienne was the one just as much as you think Poppy is the one.”
