She poured a small portion for herself into a mug and sat across from him, her fingers wrapping around the porcelain to leech the warmth. "It was..." She frowned, her nails clinking lightly against her cup. "Phos and I got into an argument at the lab."
"Yeah," she said, looking down at the table. "He called me some names and I got offended and said some things and..." She sighed and rested her head in her hands. "It's just a big mess."
Her frown deepened. "He told us that he thought it was a mistake to get married and he won't stop telling us, even though it's none of his business. I'm surprised you're not angrier."
She raised her eyebrow, frustrated. "Because he said that our engagement was a mistake! Am I not supposed to be hurt by that?"
She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "No, I'm sorry. I'm... I'm frustrated and I'm taking it out on you."
She looked up at him gratefully, leaning into his touch. "Even if it ends in me getting mad at you?" she said, a smile playing on the corner of her mouth.
She sighed and leaned over to kiss his cheek, her mouth soft against his skin. "You're wonderful, you know that?"
