Dylan frowned, rubbing the back of her neck. “Maybe... Francis, keep that vial handy nonetheless, alright?”
They made it through the forest chattering quietly. Their personalities quickly became evident as they moved. Dylan was casual, quick to become friendly with others. Laurel was reserved and disdainful, taking herself very seriously and Gavin was open and warm, with an easy grin.
Francis remained quiet most of the way. He didn't want to admit that he enjoyed situations like this.
They got back to the line between the forest and the plains and Dylan held up a hand. “We have to be quiet here. No talking.”
They began to travel across the plain, shivering slightly from the cold. The wind made a dull moaning sound as it whistles across the landscape, but it was silent otherwise. Dylan frowned. “Where did those gunshots come from, I wonder?”
They walked across the plains in silence, keeping their eyes peeled. “The lab is hidden, apparently. We just need to get in and get out without being seen.”
