She nodded and the group began to traverse the mountain, shivering slightly. Dylan’s watch beeped and she checked it. “We’re looking for a vaguely star shaped entrance. We should know it when we see it.”
They walked in silence for a long time, their breath making clouds in the air. Finally, Dylan stopped them, frowning slightly. “Here.”
The cave was muggy and stank of mold, but the jagged entrance was distinctly star shaped, a strange mix of man made and natural.
Dylan pulled out some compact looking black beads from her bag, frowning as she ran her thumb over them. They moved into the cave, light-footed.
Gradually, the floor became sleeker, stray pebbles disappearing the deeper they went in. The floors were linoleum, and it was warm inside.
