"Robotbears!" she whispered as they walked. There seemed to be a dull light emerging from the darkness.
Scouts approached, carrying a light. They hadn't yet noticed them in the gloom, but they were speaking to each other in low voices.
They ran by without noticing and Francis would be able to pick up some of the words. "They moved camp, but we should be able to track them. That many people can't be hard to find."
She blinked, her brow furrowed. "I didn't hear that, but I can let them know if you did," she replied, pressing her watch.
He gazed down the long cave, crossing his arms. "I want Poppy to know that I love her and miss her, if you can do that."
She nodded, distracted as she texted Penelope. "Uh huh. Abernathy says that she loves and misses you too and to remember your promise. Penelope wants me to tell you that we are not your quote 'love-letter messenger pigeons.'"
