Poppy pursed her lips before kissing his cheek. “It’s fine,” she reassured him, squeezing his hand. “I’ll be back soon.”
She ran her fingers through her curls nervously and she and Penelope left. Poppy waited for her to step through the door before giving him a small smile and blowing him a kiss before the tent flap closed.
She frowned and sat next to him on the table. “Well, we came to the agreement that when you got better, you and I wouldn’t go on missions together.”
