"Infirmary. We had to give her a pretty big thud on the head, I'm afraid." Dylan began to bandage his leg, wrapping the gauze around and around.
She didn't say anything as he left, only watching his retreating back with a frown. There were several bodies in the infirmary, specifically those that had been carried through the Utrana Headquarters. Poppy laid on one of the bed, an ugly bruise on her forehead. She was unconscious, her lips slightly parted, and she took small breaths that could have been miniature gasps, leftover from losing her temper.
He went to sit at the bedside, pulling up a chair. He took her hand and rested his head on the side of the bed, watching her with soft eyes.
It took several minutes for her to wake up, shifting slightly. She opened her eyes and turned her head to look at him, her eyes landing on him slowly as if she couldn't remember where she was.
She pulled her hand away slowly, her eyes cold and unforgiving. "I..." Her voice was hoarse from the screaming. "I am never going to be able to forgive you for what you did."
"I..." Her voice cracked and she turned her head away so he wouldn't see her cry. She sat up, swaying slightly. "I need to go. You stay here and get some medical attention."
"No," he said, his voice pleading. "I already did. Just stay here, okay? Your head got hurt.. Just stay here."
He stood up as well and wrapped his arms around her. When he spoke, she would hear his voice break slightly. "Please stay here. Please."
He would feel her hesitate slightly before she pried his hands away from her waist, although still taking great care not to hurt his hands. "You're lucky," she muttered as she pulled away from him. "You're lucky I'm not getting an agent here to hold you against your will. You're lucky I'm not walking to my death right now. You're lucky you don't have to watch me walk away for what could be the last time and not be able to do a single *squee!*ing thing about it."
His expression was terribly sad, and his eyes watery. He sat back down, running a shaky hand through his hair. "I know I'm lucky," he told her quietly. "I'm.. I know."
