She was quiet for a moment, her free hand on his heart. "I love your heartbeat, you know," she said after a while. "I mean, I know that sounds obvious, but it's just so steady."
"I do," she agreed. She rested her head in the curve of his neck, her eyes thoughtful. "It's quite inconvenient, actually. I used to always pride myself in being in possession of myself, but I don't think I can claim that anymore. Loving someone as much as I love you... I don't know. I am completely yours."
He paused, then grinned, picking her up carefully. "And I'm yours," he said brightly. "And I promise to always take care of you."
She blinked in surprise before beaming, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Thank you," she teased, kissing his jawline. "I feel safer already."
He gave her a big kiss on the cheek before going and setting her down on the couch. "Wanna watch a movie?"
"No, let's do it," she decided, pulling a blanket off the arm of the couch. "If I scream, though, don't you dare laugh at me."
