She kissed his knuckles languidly, her finger tracing the veins in his hand. A zombie popped up on the screen and Poppy shrieked, turning her head into Francis' stomach.
She sat up, holding his face in her hands. "The problem isn't that I think they're real," she told him softly. "I'm not terrified because I think that they're outside my door. It scares me because there's a man with a bloody eyeball jumping towards my face and screaming."
She kissed him lightly before someone on screen pierced the room with a scream and Poppy jumped, pulling away quickly.
"Don't laugh at me!" she replied, shoving him playfully. She pulled the blanket to her shoulders, leaning against the arm of the couch, her legs resting on his lap. "I get easily frightened by jumpscares!"
"A very scary movie," she pointed out, folding her arms and resting her head on top of them. "It's terrifying."
