She laughed, but it was sharp as she pulled her coat tighter around herself. “Oh, I think you could. It was a pretty big decision to make.”
She paused, considering him thoughtfully. She eventually unfolded herself, standing up and coming over to him. She hesitated before wrapping her arms around his torso and resting her head on his chest, kissing his sternum lightly. “I really love you, Francis,” she said quietly. “You know that, right?”
He seemed slightly surprised, embracing her back as he kissed the top of her head, a small smile on his face. "I really love you too."
“No,” she said quietly, shaking her head. “Like, you... I don’t know. You’re so good to me, even when I don’t deserve it.”
"But you do deserve it," he said softly. "Even of you think you do not, there's always a cause behind your actions that make them okay."
