She shoved him playfully, her eyes bright.

“Stop that.”

 

She reached down and took a loose handful of snow, tossing it at him.

“Stop, you goofus.”

 

“Don’t bring ‘neat’ back either!”

 

She grinned and kissed him, her hand brushing his jaw.

“Damn straight.”

 

She gave him a warm smile, brushing his hair back.

"I love you too."

Her watch beeped and she frowned, pulling back her coat sleeve to look at it.

"Hey! We're only ten minutes away," she said, grinning up at him. The snowflakes were stark in her hair and her eyes were bright in her rosy face. "Do you know what that means?"

 

She grinned mischeviously before reaching into her purse and pulling out fireworks with a raised brow.

 

"Really," she said, kissing him. "It's New Years. Let's break the rules, okay?"

 

Her eyes lit up when she smiled.

“Really?”

 

She grinned and kissed him quickly before kneeling in the snow to arrange the fireworks.

“I love you so much right now.”

 

“Well, I was sure you would say no.”
