"About three in the morning," she said quietly as she cleaned the blood from his cheek, avoiding his gaze.
She sighed worriedly, returning to the kit to pull out bandages. "Please don't apologize, Craw," she said quietly. "You didn't do anything wrong."
She sighed, rubbing the salve onto his jaw where bruises were already beginning to form. “I love you too,” she said softly.
She paused, her gaze focusing on his in surprise as she gathered more ointment on her finger. “Me? Yeah, I’m fine. I wasn’t the one who was tackled.”
“I’m very strong, Craw. Don’t worry,” she said, tilting her head as she meticulously screwed the lid back on the salve.
She paused in surprise before hugging him back, her hands sliding up his back to pull him closer to her.
"We'll figure it out in the morning," she promised, glancing over her shoulder. "I may lock the bedroom door tonight, though."
She leaned into his side as they entered the bedroom. Tom looked up from his bed sleepily as she locked the door, his tail thumping warmly.
