As they entered, a familiar, strong looking man with brown hair approached. "Hey, Derrick," Poppy said, biting her bottom lip nervously. Derrick regarded them with one raised eyebrow. "Can you tell me what happened?" he asked, his voice surprisingly gentle. "I wasn't really able to understand it all over the phone." Poppy cleared her throat and looked up at Francis. "Well... we were supposed to meet for lunch..."
Francis cleared his throat. "Right, we were supposed to meet for lunch and as I was waiting I encountered two men.. One had broken into the apartment previously. Supposedly they're attempting to kill us, and work for Utrana."
He frowned. "Well.. The first time I shot one he just came back. Neat hair.. Perfect smile. I don't know, it's weird."
"Ugh. Those must be them. Utrana has introduced robotic agents to the field now." Derrick crossed his arms, studying them carefully. "Well... you two have options."
"I think you guys are going to have to move no matter what," he said quietly. "These people are just too powerful to have them know where you live. The safest option would be to have you move out of the country; somewhere we could keep an eye on you, but random enough to make it difficult to find you. Your other option is to move you somewhere else in town. This is much more dangerous and it might not work. I mean, it sounds like they know where you work and what areas you guys frequent." Poppy's face grew even gloomier and she looked down at the floor, not saying anything.
He sighed, crossing his arms. He used a free hand to rub his chin, scratching his stubble. "I think it's the best chance you have," he said eventually.
Poppy bit her lip. "Would we ever be able to come back?" she asked eventually. Derrick sighed. "I'm not sure."
"If we win this war, then yes," Derrick amended. "But that's a little up in the air right now." Poppy squeezed Francis' hand but said nothing more.
"Hopefully," he agreed. He sighed before leaning back against the wall, considering the two of them. "Perhaps I can find a way to still have you two work in your current locations..."
He pursed his lips and nodded. “I would suggest that you two stay here for the night. We may have a place for you to move into by tomorrow morning.”
He sighed, rubbing his jaw with his hand. “I’ll have agents to pack up your stuff,” he decided. “Tom’s there,” Poppy said, her brow furrowed. “He’ll attack the agents if he doesn’t know them. I should go too.”
