She looked up at him as they entered the training room. The chamber was empty and she turned to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, standing on her tip toes to kiss him. “What would I do without you?”
She clicked her tongue before pulling away, heading to go sit against the wall. "Let me appreciate you," she teased.
She sighed tiredly, turning her face into his shoulder. "I love you too," she said quietly. "Promise me you won't die anytime soon?"
"I can't die, my darling," she said warmly, turning her head into his side, comforted by the scent of his cologne. "I'm a badass, remember?"
Derrick's back hurt. He rubbed the back of his neck as he climbed the stairs towards the training room, his thoughts whirling. He swung open the door with his free hand and his gaze lightly landed on Poppy and Francis, both sleeping soundly. He frowned before clearing his throat. "Ahem."
Poppy didn't wake and only buried her face in his side, murmuring sleepily. Derrick looked down at her with a raised eyebrow before sighing. "We have a place for you. It's actually rather..." He trailed off before sighing. "It's quite big. Too big, I might say, for the two of you. But it's not terribly far. We have a helicopter ready for the two of you."
