Poppy chuckled, pushing her hair off her forehead. "Overalls are that offensive to you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm the mean one, and you're the nice one. I'm just living up to the expectations." He laughed. "And I'm also teasing you."
"So that's why we were partnered together!" Poppy said with mock relief, stretching. "I've been wondering. It's because they recognized that you're bitter and I'm naive!"
She nodded, satisfied. The intercom buzzed in again, making her jump. "Please prepare for landing," it said before it clicked off. Poppy turned to look at Francis. "Want to go look?"
"Yes, but watch your step. I heard it gets a little shaky once it hits the ground." He moved to the door.
"Will do," Poppy said, standing up and walking over to the door, picking up her keys from the bedside table as she passed by.
She stepped through, nodding her thanks. "I'm excited," she said. "It feels like an endearing place to me." (A small thing - does the cellist in this video look anything like Francis? Because I was thinking that Benjamin Zander - the old guy - kinda looked like Phos to me, and I started seeing a lot of similarities between the cellist and Francis as well. But I might be totally off. )
"I hope it's not as overbearing as I think it will be." He followed, his hands behind his back. (Ehhh. I could kinda see it from the side, but not from the front.)
"Pessimist," she teased as they walked down the hallway. "I don't think we're going to stay long either way, so you don't have to worry too much." (Ach! I guess I'll have to keep trying.)
She crossed her arms thoughtfully, her fingers drumming on her upper arms. "Well, unfortunately, I don't imagine that we'll be done with this mission for quite a while," she replied. "We're going to have to visit several nations."
"Yeah, but still. The sooner the better," he said, reminiscing calmer days. "And then things will be more normal." After he said that, the aircraft shuddered, a sign of touching ground. Francis stumbled, not expecting it.
Poppy was closer to wall, and so she was able to steady herself with one arm. The other hand reached over and held his upper arm, supporting him. "You good?" she asked, standing up straight.
