He stabilized himself, nodding. "Yeah. I knew we'd have to watch for that. At least we're officially here."
"Alright. What are you thinking of doing here? Roaming the streets?" He raised an eyebrow, continuing to walk.
"Well, we have to meet in the City Hall first, I think," she said. "But I'm going to explore after that. You're welcome to come if you want." (I might make a map of their world so we can decide where they go. Is that okay?)
"I don't know, I might just... Not explore. Depends." He shrugged. "I'm not the exploring type." (Yeah, that's cool!)
She shrugged as they came to the ship's ramp that led out into the open. "You don't have to," she said, squinting as they came out into the sunlight. "But I'm going to. At least for a little while."
"I might a little bit," he said, looking at the surrounding area. "Did they say how long we were going to be here? I forgot."
"Not longer than a day," she said, looking around excitedly. "We're just loading off some people before we head off to our first nation. They need to get some paperwork squared away." There was a small farmer's market down a side street, and Poppy pointed at it with a grin on her face. "I am totally going in there later."
Francis looked over, raising an eyebrow in surprise. It seemed nice, actually. "Meh. I might go there, as well. It doesn't seem too bad. Let's just head over to City Hall so we can get that part over with."
She nodded. "Agreed," she said. She glanced up and saw an old sign pointing out the city hall building. She began walking in that direction, her head turning around to glance at the world around her. "It's nice to be back on the ground again," she said contentedly.
"Yeah, and in a more urban place. No sleeping in trees, or anything," he said, keeping his eyes straight ahead. He couldn't help but feel a bit out of place.
She turned to look up at him. She seemed to notice his discomfort, and she nudged him lightly. "You're too tense," she said, looking at him pointedly. "Relax."
"Relax? Here? In the middle of this.. place? Right before a mission? I can enjoy things, but I don't know about truly relaxing." He sighed, then muttered. "I'm not tense."
She gave him a look. "You are a little tense," she said, raising an eyebrow. "Do small towns make you nervous?"
"I'm not nervous. That's ridiculous. It's just that these people are so different, and I'm not used to it." He crossed his arms. "I don't like it."
"Hm. Well, everyone has their preferences, I suppose," Poppy said uncertainly. "I think you'll like it before the day is out, though."
They approached City Hall, the building tall and weathered. Poppy raised an eyebrow at him. "So what is your type then?"
"Places that are dangerous, where people ignore each other unless they're in a cafe or something, and where streetlights and signs light up every corner." He huffed. "Y'know, cities. Concrete jungles."
"Ha. That suits you," she said as they pushed open the doors, entering a busy main hall with a reception desk sitting smack in the center of the room.
