She rolled her eyes before turning to return to the bathroom to finish brushing her teeth. "By the time I get back, I expect the coat to be found!" she called from the bathroom. "Otherwise there will be consequences!"
He pursed his lips before standing and hiding the coat under the mattress, sitting back on the bed afterwards."
She reentered the room, pulling her hair back into a messy bun. She paused before squinting at him, her hands on her hips. She wore a simple pair of jeans and a striped orange and white shirt and she glowered at him, adjusting the watch on her wrist. "Francis, where's my coat?"
She frowned, walking over to him slowly. "Francis," she said, her voice low and dangerous. "Where is my coat?"
She cocked her head and was silent for a moment. “Oh, but I think you do know,” she said, kneeling down next to him. She paused before swiftly moving forward to whisper in his ear. “And I don’t care if you’re on your deathbed from your burning fever. I will completely destroy you without a hint of remorse unless I get my coat back in the next thirty seconds.”
Her gaze flickered to his, her brow raised expectantly. "Coat," she said, her voice clear and quiet. "Now."
Her expression changed immediately, brightening as she slipped on the coat. "Thank yoooou," she sang, kissing his cheek. "I'll see you later, okay?"
"I love you too," she replied warmly, giving him a cheeky grin that exposed her dimples. "See you. Stay warm, okay? Drink lots of water."
"Me? Safety is my middle name," she teased, pulling away and heading for the door. "Call me if you think of anything else you need." She paused before smiling back at him. "Or if you just get lonely."
She rolled her eyes at him, giving him a sweet smile. "I understand completely, but I mean if you get more lonely than usual."
She beamed before blowing him a kiss and leaving the room, closing the door behind her. After a few minutes, he would hear the front door open and close.
