He would hear her walking on the stone driveway and she chuckled warmly, kicking aside a pebble. "My darling boy, it's been two minutes."
She laughed deeply and he would be able to imagine her nose crinkling with the action. "Are you getting these from a book or something?"
She was quiet for a moment, the only sound being her footsteps on the ground. "God," she said eventually with a small, almost self-deprecating laugh. "I can't believe you love me, Francis."
