"Francis, you can't... just... do this to people," she protested, still squirming. "How are you even going to get me to sleep?"
He pursed his lips, taking her to the bed and sitting on the edge with her in his arms. "Just.. Calm down."
She hesitated, still squirming, but her hand came up to rest on the side of his neck instinctively. "But, Francis..."
She sighed reluctantly before wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him close, her face turned into the side of his neck. "This is so unfair."
She sighed, her fingers running through his hair. "Don't apologize unless you wish to change your decisions."
"I know you are, my love," she said with a sigh, taking a moment to look at him before slipping off his lap to lie on the bed on her back, pulling him down with her. "But you need to be aware that I'm a grown woman who is allowed free will."
"Well, I've survived this long. I'm okay. Really, I am. And besides, I wouldn't force you to get into bed if you were sick."
"Craw, I don't know if you've noticed, but you're a kinda big guy. You're like 20 feet tall. I don't think I could force you."
