She rested her head on her free hand, studying him thoughtfully. "I'm worried," she said slowly, leaning back. "I was in the lab the other day before we left and there was this explosion." She waved a hand idly, but he would be able to tell that there were thoughts whirring through her mind. "It wasn't too bad, but it caused a lot of chaos..."
"Nothing too bad, honestly. Someone's experiment exploded and caught fire, but that tripped the fire alarms, so the sprinkles went off and the water reacted negatively with the other experiments." She sighed, shaking her head. "Basically, a lot of people were upset. I just worry because I left so suddenly. They all just had to deal with the chaos."
His brows furrowed. "Don't worry.. It'll blow over. I'm sure you've done enough to deal with a 100 of those messes."
Her gaze flickered up to him and she gave him a small smile before opening her mouth hesitantly, as if she knew that he wouldn't like her idea. "I'm thinking that I should go back to the lab," she said eventually. "Just for a while. Just... You know. To make sure everything's running smoothly."
