“Well, what makes you happy?”
"You, coffee, fish, standing on solid ground that isn't frozen water.."
She laughed lightly. "In that order?"
"Yes," he replied agreeably. "In that order."
"Well, you're pretty good at walking on frozen water."
He pursed his lips. "Not quite."
“You haven’t even fallen!”
"Still!"
"Let me compliment you, Francis. It's a rare occasion."
"That wasn't a compliment, was it?"
"The fact that you're able to stay standing?"
"It's not too impressive."
"It is, baby. The first time I tried, my dad had to carry me off."
He chuckled. "But how old were you?"
She pursed her lips. "...Nine or so."
"Uh huh. I'm older than nine."
"Did I say nine? I meant 32."
"You're not that old, Miss Abernathy. Hate to break it to you."
She pursed her lips, crossing her arms. "Sure I am, Mr. Craw."
