He nodded in satisfaction slowly moving to sit again the tree and keeping her in his lap. "That's good. I'm glad."
She felt a wave of adoration for him and paused, resting her head on his collarbone. "I miss this, sometimes, you know," she said quietly, playing with his shirt button. "Just... you know. These moments where we can just sit together."
He rubbed her back gently, kissing the top of her head as he smiled slightly. "Me too.. We should do it more often."
"Yeah. Well, you know, we're pretty lucky. Our hours aren't terribly long, and they're at similar times of the day, so it's not like I go to work as soon as you get home. I just... I don't know. I miss you when you're not around."
He sighed softly. "I miss you too. I just like relaxing with you, but we seem to find ourselves busy."
“Yeah,” she said slowly, her hand slipping under the collar of his shirt to rub his back slowly. “You especially, though, get a lot of stress from work.”
“The lab is nothing,” she said, shaking her head. “Nothing compared to the work you do on a daily basis.”
She squinted at him before leaning forward and kissing his jaw. “Yeah, but I like ordering people around.”
“No one. I know you like your job. It’s just that you have a lot of stuff to do and I’m sure that you don’t enjoy all of it.”
She kissed his cheek, wrapping her arms around his torso. “It doesn’t matter. I’m just happy to be with you.”
