She chuckled, biting his earlobe lightly.

“Quit what?”

 

“But I like you.”

 

“So let me kiss you.”

 

She chuckled lightly before her lips found his, and she pulled him close.

 

“I love you too,” she murmured breathily.

 

She was quiet for a moment before she finally pulled away for breath, her eyes on his.

“You’re distracting, you know.”

 

She laughed in spite of herself.

“Do you ever feel like... like you’re not nearly close enough?”

 

“It is right now,” she admitted. “I feel like you’re too far away, even though you’re as close as you can be.”

 

“There’s nothing you can do,” she said, inhaling his scent. “You can just stay here with me, though. Would you like to stay here forever?”

 

She flushed, rolling her eyes slightly.

“Did you get that from a book?”
