"Wake up and see the truth, Abernathy."
She laughed, leaning back against his cheek. "Oh, hush."
He wrapped his arms around her. "Hm."
The show started, and she pulled the blanket up around them.
He rested his head on her shoulder, pulling her into his lap.
She chuckled slightly, glancing up at him out of the corner of her eye. "Hi."
He looked at her from her shoulder. "Hi."
She kissed the tip of his nose lightly, resting her head on his.
He shut his eyes, his fingers curling in her shirt.
"Are you tired?" she murmured, brushing her hair out of his face.
"I could sleep," he said softly. "What about you?"
"Well, I don't make a habit of falling asleep as a movie starts, but I could give it a try."
"Technically it's a show, so.."
"You make a good point," she replied with a slow nod."
He kidded her cheek, going quiet again.
Poppy's eyelids grew heavier until she drifted off altogether.
He soon followed, keeping his arms around her.
