"Stay home with me!"
“I can’t! I have to work!”
"We can go to the zoo!"
She hesitated and he could see her weakening. “But I... I have to.”
"We can get icecream!"
She frowned at him, brushing his hair out of his face. “You’re making this difficult.”
He smiled innocently. "Well?"
She groaned, burying her face in his chest. "I could get in a lot of trouble."
"Can't you just tell them your sick? Or want a day off?"
"I mean... I could. But that's unethical."
"Hmm... Well when is your next day off?"
Her frown deepened. "Uh... I'm not sure. There's no real end in sight."
He pursed his lips. "So I can't keep you here?"
She hesitated, stretching in his arms. "Well... maybe."
He brightened. "I can?"
"I don't know. It's very tempting."
"And we can go to the zoo and get ice cream?"
She sighed affectionately before scooting up, kissing the corner of his mouth. "Hm. I suppose."
He grinned in excitement. "Really?"
"Really," she confirmed, brushing his hair out of his face.
