The Captain would hit Marcus on the shoulder lightly, letting him know it was time to leave. He would get on the shuttle after the Turians and the Ambassador, wandering if he was dead.
The Captain quickly got on, a large Flood Behemoth busting through the rubble as the large amounts infection flooded in.
The door closed and the shuttle soon departed, leaving the place and the citadel back to Saber's ship,
As they would take off, the view of the cities were complete hell, fires and nothing but green could be seen. The Flood had been feeding off of the civilians and the technology, growing and growing. Within a matter of thirty minutes, the citadel had been taken over, but there was still much fight against the infection on the streets. It was a massacre. "Are there any other way off of here?" The Captain asked.
"We are going to the mass relay." Saber explained. "We are getting the hell out of here." They son arrived to the ship and it went with the UNSC ships so they could all escape from there.
"You'll have to seal the relay." ?Marcus explained "If notr this will spread throughout your galaxy."
(Lets do something you'd hate me for >) "He is right, the Flood feeds on all sentient if, and as it does, it will get more and more intelligent. They will have the ability to use weapons and pilot ships as well," The Captain would sigh, shaking his head. Right before they would leave to the space to reach the ships, birdlike infection began to shoot balls of infection, taking out one of the thrusters causing the ship to get out of control. They were too far from space to float at all, and it was a free fall all of the way to hell. The Flood Swarm is what it was called (Halo Wars), and it was fast and swift, storming the shuttle trying to get in.
"Damn it!" Saber said as that happened. He saw how the ships were slowing down and he got ready to fight them if they needed to.
Marcus looked down and pulled a flamethrower. "I'll get them of the thrusters. Be ready to get the **** out of Dodge!"
As they would go lower and lower, they would end up crashing into an edge of the building, spiraling out of control and killing the pilot on impact. The shuttle door opened, flying off and the Captain went flying out, holding on to what he could of the shuttle grips trying to himself back in. The Swarm began to target him, swooping down to attack.
As the shuttle would collide into a building, it crashed into an empty street. The Captain was gone, he had lost grip of the bars long ago. The pilot was dead, leaving only two survivors.
He stood up, stumbling as he attempted this. The Captain would get up, shaking his head. He had lost his rifle, but grabbed a shotgun that was beside him. There were no other equipment, beside the armor and knife he had. He was aways away, and could only see static on his radar.
