"I guess," Taffy replied, crossing the road with Arcana. "Still, ah can't help but think that if ah could move things with ma mind, I wouldn't have the misfortune of being able to identify different kinds of machine lubricant by taste." She pulled a face at the thought.
Arcana thought for a bit. "I don't know a lubricant identification spell, but you'll be the first to know if I find one," she said walking up to the shop and opening the door. "Ladies first," she said smiling.
Taffy raised an eyebrow as she walked past. "You really ought t' stop sayin' that; ponies might get suspicious."
Arcana laughed a bit and was led to a table by a pegasus waiter. She sat down and took a look at the menu, seeing many things she liked.
"'Scuse me," Taffy said to the waiter as they sat down, "I don't 'spose you know the weather forecast for today, do you?"
"I believe that today we're going to get a couple scattered showers. The big rainstorm is later tonight," The waiter said to Taffy. He went back to work. Arcana still perusing over the menu said, "If you want, we can go back to the hotel and get a couple of raincoats." A bit more scanning and Arcana smiled, "So many good choices here," she said to Taffy.
"No, that's ok; I've survived worse that a few showers." Taffy replied before examining the menu herself, it did all look very good. "Oooh, strawberries!" She said, delightedly.
Arcana looked closer, "Let's see. 'Spiced crepe with a berry compote' that sounds good. Served with whipped cream, even better. I'll go for that." She decided to also get a glass of milk to drink.
"Ah'll have tea, ah think." Taffy liked tea; it always reminded her of the time she spent travelling with an old fortune telling mare.
"Hmm, I didn't notice the tea," Arcana said offhandedly as she looked at the menu again. "So there it is."
"So do they take our order? Or do we have t' go up t' the counter?" Taffy asked, looking around for the Pegasi waiter.
Seeing other waiters taking orders from customers, Arcana patiently waited for one to come to their table. In about a minute of waiting, a unicorn waitress comes to the table. "Welcome, what will you be having?" She asked the two mares sitting.
"Hi!" Taffy smiled brightly at the waitress before consulting her menu "Can we have; two of the spiced crepes with berry compote and whipped cream, a glass of milk, and tea please?" She looked to Arcana to confirm she'd gotten the order right.
"I'll change the milk for a cup of tea, please," Arcana said as she handed the waitress the menus. She smiled at Taffy as the waitress left to put the order into the kitchen.
"So, ya got any more appearances planned? Any more concerts booked?" Taffy inquired as they waited for their food to arrive.
Two pots of tea arrived for the two ponies. Arcana started to steep her tea before she answered, "Yeah, I've got two more performances, but I don't have any today."
Taffy nodded as she poured herself a cup of tea and added a splash of milk. She looked back up at Arcana. "Ah'm curious, how do you get your gigs? Do you have, like, an agent? or..."
"I have a manager, but he and I don't care for each other that much," Arcana said quickly. "He's a stallion who knows many people and gets the gigs that pay." Arcana thought a bit, "it's why I also ask local cafes and other shops if I can play there too. It keeps me close to my roots in Los Pegasus."
