"Apparently there's a nice one three blocks that way," Taffy said, walking back over to Arcana; she'd asked a well groomed looking mare for directions whilst Arcana was studying her map.
Arcana laughed, "And this is how I know I'm really a stallion." She looked over where Taffy pointed and saw the spa. "Looks like a nice place, let's go." Arcana smiled and trotted along.
The spa had a real nice feel to it; all pine panelling and house plants. As they entered, a spa pony with a white headband came to greet them.
"Welcome," said the spa pony as she looks at the two mares. Arcana looks around then greats the spa pony. "Hello, I'm Arcana Cantare," she said quickly.
"Taffy," Taffy said, nodding to the spa pony. "My name's Lily," The spa pony said, smiling. "What can I help you girls with today?"
Arcana, playing a bit of a shy angle, lets Taffy take care of it. "I don't know what to say," she whispered to Taffy.
Taffy tried to suppress a grin at Arcana's sudden shyness, "Me ahn my friend here are having a girly day out; what would you recommend?" Lily thought for a moment, then pulled out a menu from behind the desk. "Well, our package deals are very popular; I would recommend the head-to-hoof relaxathon." She showed them the package on the menu, "A session in the sauna, full body massage, mane and tail grooming, and finally a hooficure." "Uh, yeah, that sounds good!" Taffy said, looking to Arcana for conformation.
"Well, it certainly sounds relaxing. Sure, let's do that," Arcana smiled, though she has no idea what she's getting into.
"Perfect, if you'd like to come with me?" Lily led them down a corridor and to a door marked 'Sauna'. "Here we are; enjoy, and one of my colleagues will be along to collect you in about half an hour." Taffy went into the sauna room, and then turned to Arcana. "Um, any idea how to work this thing? Ah've never seen one before..." There were stepped wooden benches arranged around a bed of hot coals in the centre of the room; next to the coals was a bucket of water and a ladle.
Arcana looked at the room and thought a bit. She took the ladle and filled it with some water, put the water onto the coals and steam filled the room. Arcana sat down and added another ladle full. "All right time to relax," she said to Taffy.
The steam made Taffy feel hot, but not uncomfortably so. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to her, the humidity was also causing her mane and tail to frizz out at an alarming rate. "This is nice; ah can see why ponies like saunas now." Taffy said, looking lazily at Arcana.
After many relaxing minutes had passed, there was a knock an the door and a friendly looking stallion poked his head in. "Misses, if you're ready, you can come for your massages now," Taffy nodded, and as she stepped out of the sauna, the stallion handed her a towel, which she wrapped around her mane. "Thank ya kindly," She said, smiling pleasantly.
Arcana steps out of the sauna and follows Taffy. She takes the towel and puts it on her head and wraps her mane carefully, grateful that her sisters showed her how. They were led to the massage rooms. "This is the room you'll be in miss," the attendant said to Taffy, referring to massage room one.
Taffy walked into the room and was greeted by a teal coloured mare. "Hello! My name's Lemongrass, and I'll be your masseuse today; please get comfortable on the table, and we'll begin." Taffy climbed onto the table, and Lemongrass began; at the start, Taffy was a little uncomfortable, but by the end she felt more relaxed than she remembered ever feeling before.
Arcana walkes into the room assigned for her and saw a pink colored mare. "Welcome, I'm Essence and I'll be working with you today,"She said. Arcana smiled as she has been stressed lately, though the sauna helped. "Please lie down on the table and we'll begin." Arcana happily got on and tried to relax. Essence began working and Arcana lost track of time during her massage.
When Lemongrass had finished, Taffy hopped down off the table, thanked her, and was lead to the groom room by Lily. "Your grooming session will begin soon, but for now, take a seat, relax, and your friend should be along shortly," Said Lily, cheerily, before leaving Taffy alone in the room. She sunk into a sofa and tried not to fall asleep.
Essence was finished her massage then got Arcana up from the massage table. Lily was outside the door when Arcana opened the door. "Right this way, ma'am," Lily said as she led Arcana to the mane grooming area. Arcana noticed that Taffy was already there. Arcana was given the seat next to Taffy.
