A cacophony of stomping and cheering broke out across the audience as Arcana finished his set. Taffy added her voice to the others; she wasn't sure he'd be able to see her, but she waved anyway.
Arcana smiled and bowed one more time before he went backstage. He talked with the next person on and he went to his area.
As the next pony came onto the stage, Taffy decided to see if she could get backstage to see Arcana. Leaving the main crowd area, she approached the pony guarding the backstage door. "I'm sorry miss," He said, holding up a hoof, "performers only." "Oh, it's ok," Taffy said, digging through her saddlebags, "I'm with one of the performers, Arcana?" She fished out his note to show the guardpony.
Hearing Taffy's voice, Arcana tapped the guard on the back. "It's okay. She's able to come back here," Arcana said reassuringly to him. As the guard apologized and returned to watching the crowd, "Follow me," Arcana said to her and led her to the backstage area. "Please follow close, it's a maze back here," He said with a smile.
"You were great!" Taffy enthused, being careful not to get too carried away and lose track of where Arcana was leading her.
Slightly embarrassed, "Thank you," Arcana said. Continuing in the backstage, he led her to his warm-up/rest area.
"Really good!" Cider always made Taffy more enthusiastic. "All the other folk seemed t' enjoy it too."
Arcana grabbed a bottle of cider saved for the artists after they perform and started drinking. "That was a good performance, I agree. It was a a lot of fun." He said, smiling. "Did you have some fun out there?" He took another swig of the bottle.
"Ah sure did! Even danced a little." Taffy said, grinning. "Don't suppose there's any goin' spare?" She asked, somewhat slyly, nodding at the bottle.
'Cute accent' Arcana thought as he look at his cider supply. "Yeah, I certainly won't drink all of them by myself." He said happily as he finished his bottle and opened another.
"Ah, finally; somethin' ah can help you with!" Taffy said, smiling and taking a bottle. Sitting back on her haunches, she held the bottle aloft, "To fun!" she toasted.
"And to friends, family and other loved ones being there for it," Arcana toasted back. He drank his toast and began laughing. "Did you toast because of my last song?" he teased her.
"Hey, so'd you have them song already picked out, or'd you choose 'em on the hoof?" Taffy inquired after she'd recovered from her giggling fit.
Arcana finished laughing and said, "I'm told make an hour so I have a make a set list for the show. For a while it's a set list each show." He drank his cider and continued, "Sometimes I change what I got, but tonight wasn't one of those nights."
"Well, the music sure seemed ta fit everypony's mood." Taffy finished her bottle and tried balancing it on her nose. "You're pretty talented."
Chuckles while looking at Taffy balancing a bottle on her nose, "Thanks, I worked pretty hard to get where I'm at."
"And what a place it is!" Taffy said, nodding at the slightly dingy backstage room and grinning mischievously.
"Yeah, they could do a lot better, but it's fine. I bet my hotel room is better than their buses," Arcana said smiling just as mischievously, finishing his bottle.
