Jason Martin was a normal person with a somewhat abnormal personality. In his mind and dreams, he had the most powerful story thought out for his future life. Although this life was extremely fantasy-like and highly improbable to live, he knew that someday, when the time was just right, all of it would happen. He couldn't feel it right now, but he knew he would know when the time was just right.

As Jason sat on the curb on his street, he realized it was a perfect day, with the nice warm sun, family out of the house (he liked to be home alone for quite a bit of time), warm breeze, and relaxing feeling in his soul. Then a little bit later, he noticed that someone was running along the street towards his place. It took some time for him to notice, because he was sitting on the corner of his block, three doors away from his house. Usually, he would just leave runners to do their thing, but this one seemed a little...different. Jason tried to get a better look.

The runner looked female, possibly his age, maybe a little bit older. But the thing that was different about her was that her skin was a certain, say, orange, and her hair had a somewhat...firey flare to it. She also looked somewhat...familiar to Jason. He didn't know anyone that looked like that. But it was true to his eyes; the girl was running towards him.

When she finally reached Jason, she stopped for a quick rest, out of breath. Jason thought she must have come a long way just for him. As he studied her again, he found that she looked more beautiful than he suspected. And when she spoke to him, still out of breath, he realized she had a more firey voice. It was so nice and reassuring that Jason almost forgot to listen to what she was saying.

"Hey, if they come running around here, which should be about..." she studied the sun for a second, "just a few minutes...just tell them that I went...that way," she caught her breath, pointing to the pathway behind Jason. "Okay? Oh, by the way...my name is Sunset Shimmer." Then she gave Jason a quick pat on the shoulder, a kiss on the cheek, then ran off in the other direction. Pretty weird name, Jason thought. That kiss burned his cheek and he wondered what she came here for. He understood that there probably were some others out to get her...or maybe him. He wondered if he should tell these others where she ran off...or not.

A few minutes passed by; Jason getting more nervous with every moment passing by. This was almost exactly like a daydream he had had not too long ago. Well, it was something like it. He was extremely nervous about all of this. He would have stayed inside for a few minutes, but he knew that he didn't have to; he had to be brave.

A few minutes later, he started to see some figures coming up the same path that Sunset Shimmer had been running on. Even from far away, Jason could tell there were six of them. they were all in different colors, almost alike to the other girl, but quite different colors. As they got closer, Jason realized that they were all girls. Anyone else probably would have groaned and wondered how they got in this situation, but when he could make out their individual colors, Jason's hopes suddenly got up. He realized that the best way to meet them was to look away until they got his attention.

So that's what he did until he heard a very beautiful voice ask, "Um, excuse me?" Jason turned around to see the most beautiful face in the universe standing so close to him. It almost seemed like the other girls with this purple angel weren't there. for a moment, Jason and that girl were alone, staring at what appeared to be love at first sight. but he soon regained his composure and started to speak.

"Hey," he said to her in the sweetest, most grown-up voice he could muster, "I'm Jason." He realized that she was still in her trance just as he had been, and had just snapped out of it when he spoke, so it took a second before she finally said, "Oh...uh, I'm Twilight Sparkle. Um...have we ever met before?" It actually kind of shocked Jason to hear that this angelic character might have seen someone like him before. "Well, I do think I've seen you before..." he knew it was moderately true, "But I think I would've remembered actually meeting such a fine-looking character like you." She giggled softly, and Jason knew that this was on FIRE.

This really good moment was soon ended at just the right moment when another girl was trying to get Twilight's attention. "Twilight...hey, you were out there for a moment." They snapped out of it and shot a glance at the other girl. This one had a nice sky blue skin color, and her hair had a very rainbow look to it. "You can't forget why we're here," she said to Twilight. Jason then realized he really needed a good friend, and immediately asked Twilight, "Uh...who are these other girls?"

"Hmm?...Oh, right, of course..." Twilight still seemed somewhat charmed by Jason's existence. "These are my friends..." she introduced Jason to all her friends; Rainbow Dash, the blue girl who spoke first; Pinkie Pie, the pink girl with a seemingly quite happy side; Applejack, the most human-looking girl with them who looked sorta cowgirl-ish; Fluttershy, the light yellow girl who seemed quite shy, yet very nice; and Rarity. Jason noticed that Rarity; who looked quite beautiful with white skin and nice purple hair; had just given him a look just like anyone else who's sorta in love. He ignored it; he would most likely deal with her later. "So, what are you guys here for?" he asked, even though he had a pretty good idea what.

Instead of Twilight, it was Rainbow Dash who answered. "We're looking for some...one who has been sabotaging our home in, uh...someplace. Have you seen anyone like that who ran by here?" Jason felt that ever-popular pang of trust and backstabbing just then. But he knew he could very well trust these girls; he most likely had no choice. So he told them, "Um, yeah, I remember someone did tell me that she went that way...but then went the other way. Said her name was...Sunset Shimmer?..."

At that moment, all the girls looked a little heartbroken. "Oh no," Twilight said. "We've really gotta know what she's trying to do. Come on," she motioned towards everyone, including Jason, "there's not much time. I'll explain everything on the way." Jason knew she would say something like that, but just had to chime in with, "Wait, you guys want me to come with you?"

"Of course!" came the confirming voice of Pinkie Pie. "You've just became our newest friend; it's not like us to just leave our new best friend hanging behind." Twilight just had to add in, "Plus, you could probably be of some use for our little quest; we could really use a man on the trail." At that moment, Jason felt a great feeling in his heart and soul. And he knew that this was going to be the best time of his life. He knew that there might he some downs and bumps along the way, and a lot of stuff he would have to guess, but he knew that was just the magic of friendship.
