Espir notices a staue of 6 ponys, with a moon and sun behind them. "wait, we were magically taken here, 6 of us, now theres a statue of 6 ponys here? maybe there was a reason we were taken here..." -- sorry for continuous posts...
(Paragon) Espir see's a pony with half of a hoove on one leg, Espir runs up to the pony, "I think I can fix that!" Espir picks up a chunk of wood off of the ground and carves it, with a piece of scrap metal that was sticking out of it, into the shape of the missing part of his hove and attaches it. "Thank you sir!" The pony trotted off towards his house.
OOC:Hey, Espir, few things. 1)One of thoe rules of the site is "Thou shalt not post multiple times in a row. And in your case in particular, you could have said all of that and more in one post and it would have been fine. 2)Your actions are really random, without rhyme or reason. I mean, bodies? Where did bodies comes from?and then there's night vision gogles-do we even have that? And then bam, there's a statue-which is in no way referenced anywhere else-and a pontification. And then, BAM, a pony who needs help. I mean, don't get me wrong, contribute ot hte story, invent characters and fill in background and such, but do so with everything else accounted. IRght now you just have a bunch of disjointed posts, they don't even really make sense in context of each other. 3)There's a matter of responding appropriately to this scenario. Unless your pony is just really that spastic and of the sort of mind where he just accepts things, he should probably have some serious questions right now. Not the least of which would be "Where am I?!""What the hell just happened?""How are we going to survive?""Who can we turn to?""What are we going to do". ANd appropriately, your character should probably be trying to find answers to those questions, unless the situation cause him to snap, in which case he should probably be a quivering mess for a while now. 4)Conflicts: The big problem is that you've given yourself one issue-a pony needs a new hoof thingy, what can I do to help, cause helping will give me an ally in this scenario, and I need someone to help me out and give me context-but you just went and BAM! solved it. It's a shame, because this actually has merits for the story-a favor done is a favor gained, which can help us start to get on stable ground and figure out details of where we are and what to do about it-and as such needs a little bit of conflict. For example: Where do you get the wood? How do you shape it? How do you get the tools to do that? How long does it take? Does the pony not want your help and is trying to lose you before you give him the hoof? Do people try and take your stuff because it's valuable? Do you get attacked because people are *squee!*s in this town? A favor like the one you're doing is actually a big deal and comes with it's own reward, so in terms of a conflict, you have a Desire, a goal with reward(even if you're not looking at it from that angle, simple satisfaction for doing a good thing is still a desire that you aim to get, aka a goal), and there's potential for personal Growth(You learn about the area and what resources are easy to get), but there's no Obstacle, and there's no Risk. That's dull and ruins the value of what you're doing. 5)Resolutions:This is a problem we're all kind of hitting, but I'm gonna blame the establishing game. There are four kind of Resolutions, essentially 1)Yes!, 2)Yes But!, 3)No!, and 4)No, and Further! For now, we've all been pressing the yes button. As in"Will Luck find the group safely?". Bing, Yes. And it's BORING. But like I said, we're still beginning, so we're establishing stuff. We do need minor normal victories so we can get up on our feet, otherwise we're shot. But traditionally, and particularly for the one conflict you offered which has BIG advantages, the others are more rewarding. For example: "Does Espir make a new hoof for the pony?" Yes, but as it turns out this man has angered one of the local gangs, and so by showing favor to him, you've painted a target on your back. BAM! Story arc. Free of charge. How about this? "Does Espir make a new hoof for the pony?" NO! Which means Espir is back to square one, and needs to find a new way to connect to this strange new world if he's going to survive long enough to find a way out of it. Not quite as fufilling at this particular point, because there's no new story arc that emerges from it. But on the other hand, Espir is probably more tired, it's getting later and darkker and colder, and the nights here might be lethal, which might change the story simply to "How the hell am I gonna survive even one night?". How about this? "Does Espir make a new hoof for the pony?"NO, AND FURTHER! Espir actually angers a carpenter for stealing his stuff, and now has to either calm him down, beat him down, or escape or he's gonna be arrested or beaten down. It's nice, it's tense, it's immeadiate, and once again, the story shifts to immeadiate survival. it can even be turned around into a win, if he can explain and win the sympathy of the carpenter, who provides the resources for Espir to move forward in this world. SEE? Anyone of those is better than "espir makes a hoof for the ugy and now they are best friends for ever and ever". Just some advice. I'm gonna get sleep.
Clef wipes his tears and finds that Kamlin has stopped laughing he starts to sniffle and looks at the dead bodies again "Well... looks like I can kill people in this frail body," Kamlin laughed a sudden flashback went back into his mind. He was 12 years old in a little town he had just bought his first violin and was trotting back to his house until he heard a scream. Clef looked back to see one of his friends moms she was stumbling a feel to the ground. "Miss Consendra! Are you ok," Clef yelled, he quickly ran to her side and noticed a arrow to her back "Oh my," he whispered he heard another scream and this time it was his teacher then screams went everywhere some were pain, crying, and the most terrifying was the screams of madness. He tries to run to his house looking around to see bodies and fire everywhere he makes it too his house but it was already on fire "Mom! Dad!?," he screamed, he ran around town to see ponies screaming and killing he sees his mom and dad pinned to the ground by fallen debris. "Clef!," his mom screamed, "Clef get away the bandits they will kill everyone!," " No! I can't let this happen," he screamed, his mom slapped him. "Clef! You have to go I love you and always remember that," she said. Clef starts to cry and runs towards the road, a wooden slab feel on Clef's head but little did he know later when he was 13 his spilt personality came. Clef got up and starts to run again. His flashback ended to see he was still in the town he looks at Kidd and starts to smile again. "Im glad to have you!," he laughs.
That was it. Kidd's mind was made up. "Clef, I think I can help you... Do you want to gain control of yourself again?"
Zephyr continues to trot on ahead, completely lost on thought. He thinks to himself curiously. "Hmm, a flower huh? How hard could it be to find one?" He glances back at the pile of bodies in the distance. "After what Clef did, I don't think the Reapers.... Realies.... Rovers? Whatever. Anyway, I doubt that they'll even want to talk to us without wanting to exact some sort of revenge." He sighs heavily. "This is not what I had in mind yesterday when I said I was bored." He continues the same train of thought as before "I think he also mentioned something about a Mr. Apollo or something. At least we have a clean slate with him, although I might have one with the Rovers too, since I wasn't the one to bludgeon some of their members to death. Hmm, I can't do much about the one on the island. I can't exactly fly to an island that I can't find, let alone reach according to what I've heard." Zephyr stops in his tracks. "Looks like that only leaves two options, Steal from the Reapers, or Mr. Apollo. I should try to find out more about them first." He looks around. "But where...? Everyone seems so hostile in this town." He jumps in excitement. "That's it! I have an idea!" Zephyr does an about face and flies past the others with impressive speed and checks to see if the Reavers were wearing a specific uniform of sorts, or at least had some sort of proof of membership, it would make infiltration that much easier.
Clef looked at Kidd "Really!?," he yelled, "you can get him out of my head!,". "No you fool you can never get rid of me I'm in your head forever!," Kamlin laughed, Clef disregarded what Kamlin just said. " Kidd I will do anything you say to get Kamlin out of my head I don't want anyone hurt more," he said. He moves towards he bodies looking at their smashed faces Clef sighs. "Come on Kidd lets get this guy out of my mind," he said. "No! You can get rid of me," Kamlin yelled he tried to take over his mind but failed at it his mind was full of hope to take over, "you stupid idiot! you better not get rid of me!," Kamlin screamed at the top of his lungs.
Eden stares upward, lost in thought. What if he was the sole reason everypony in the group died? What if it was his fault for not going with them? "Looks like you don't exactly agree with those ponies.", a voice says to him. "I don't, mysterious voice. But I wonder if I am making the wrong choice." "There is no wrong choice, friend. You help those annoying ponies, or, even better, you don't. Take your pick." "Who are you, anyway? If you're my conscious, I won't listen to you. I know better than that." "The name...", the voice says, pausing for effect. "Is Discord." GM/OOC: Eden will be the first to make a major decision, for demonstrative purposes only. You will each, in turn, be presented with choosing either Discord or another faction (which I will not name yet) to be your major influence. "Well, Mister Discord, you have a point.", Eden says to nothing, saying the voice has no source yet. "I don't want to be with them. You, unlike most, seem to have a good grasp on reality. I like your style of business.", Eden says to the voice. "Perhaps you can help me, then?", Discord asks. (Renegade) "With allies like you, I have a feeling there won't be any problems. I accept your offer of partnership." Eden was very, very wrong. OOC: Carry on with your business, the decision will come in good time.
“Well Clef, I hope I’m right.” Kidd grabs Clef, and then the freshest, least broken of the dead Reavers. He leaps into a shadow before anypony can stop him. Into The Shadow Realm. In The Shadow Realm, (the half-way point Kidd uses to travel through shadows) all laws of matter and physical form no longer exist. The only constant is the mind, and the number of bodies that must return to the normal world. Kidd’s idea was tricky, and he had never tested anything like it before. Clef had no control in this realm, and neither did his evil half. Kidd took advantage of this… He ripped Clef’s soul in two. Kidd carefully placed the good Clef back into his body, and then roughly shoved the evil Kamlin into the dead body of the Reaver. The laws of The Shadow Realm observed, Kidd returns to the world. He returns with Clef… AND Kamlin.
Luck watched the brief exchange between Kidd and Clef(Kamlin? Luck couldn't really keep a bead on what was going on with the violinist) dully, his face throbbing in pain. He got that sense that, whatever was going on, this was important, but at the same time they needed to find a place to hole up for the night, a place to get their bearings. Even worse on that score, they were attracting attention, likely would soon. They were off on a side road, but activity was still prevalent. Severeal people were getting their first impressions of the ponies right there, and whatever Kidd was going ot do probably wasn't going to win them any favors. Luck looked down the road and saw Zephyr and made a choice. They needed to start looking for support and needed to maintain whatever credibility they had. "Listen, Kidd, whatever you're going to do, get both of you out of sight for it, and now. You don't want to startle too many people and raise whispers about you two, or the rest of the group. I'm gonna go ahed with Zephyr and we're gonna find someplace to rest up. I'll send Zephyr to look for you when we do." Luck said with as much confidence as he could put forth. Wounded, tired, confused and afraid as he was, it didn't come out as strong as he wanted, but it was steady. So with that, Luck walked(He still didn't even feel like striding), he went after Zephyr, calling out after him once when he got close nough he thought he could maintain quality control on his voice. "We've got to get a hold of some money and find an inn or something. Any ideas?" (Luck is luck enough to find some decent spare change and to find a cheap inn of sorts-or a person friendly enough to house them for some money-but I'd like to give Zephyr a chance to show off as a thief and score us some resources) OOC EDIT:Am I the only pony who doesn't HAVE an evil side? Seriously.
"Im free!," Clef exclaimed, but his cheer lasted short until he was punched in the face by Kamlin. "Im free! You.. Kidd you stupid idiot I'm going to smash you face in!", Kamlin tried to make a mud puddle but didn't work. "What the," he asked he looked at himself and felt that he was much taller than Clef Kamlin smiled, "Oh oh I congratulate you my friend," he says slowly clapping, "You managed me to get into one of the bodies,". He kicked Clef in the stomach and punching him in the chest "Oh how it feels to hurt this idiot!," he laughed, he kicked Clef again in the stomach and Clef spit out some blood. Clef slowly gets up but badly bruised. "Take this," Clef weakly said, Kamlin turned around to see there was a mud cannon right in front of him Kamlin smirked, "Nicely done," he said. Clef fired the cannon and hit Kamlin right in the gut the force of the mud ball blasted him into the forrest. Clef smiled and looked at Kidd "thanks," he smiled. Kamlin gets up he had a broken leg, 3 ribs were broken, and one of his eyes weren't working "so... looks like we have a war going on," he smiled evilly.
Eden landed lightly next to the massive pony's freshly resurrected body. He used some of the power of Discord to not only heal the pony, but to give him some extra strength. Afterward, Discord explained the rest of his plan. Eden hung on every word.
Zephyr groaned as he couldn't find anything that made the Reavers stick out. He started to walk on down the road when he heard Luck calling his name. He slowed down and met his pace. "Well, an Inn sounds like a good idea in my opinion, we'd be able to ask around and figure out where we actually are, which would be nice for a change." He noticed that Luck was still slightly shaken up from the previous events. "Er... You lead the way. They can catch up." OOC: Well, Zephyr was only a thief to survive really, he was without a home for quite a while.
Kamlin looked at himself "looks like I'm having a good day," he laughed, "now time to find this gang maybe he might be a officer or something,". He wore a black hood and started to ask every pony were the gang's hideout was after 20 ponies that coward before him finally got him to the headquarters. "Ah... looks like I'm starting my new life in here!" he laughed he walked into the doors without hesitation ready to take his revenge on the group of ponies.
Kidd walks up to the broken form of Clef. "......That did not happen as I planned..." After another second of looking at Clef, he said, "...I think he hurt you. Lets go find Luck. Maybe he knows some healing spells. Now where did he and Zephyr go?" Kidd picks Clef up, and looks for the two ponies. He says to himself, "And Eden... Where did HE go?"
(I feel like I missed something, because I have no idea what the reavers are) Luck sighed. It would figure he'd be the one who'd have to figure stuff out. "Alright, well, here's our problem. We have no bits to barter-"Luck stopped as he noticed a few bits lying on the side of the road, and stooped gingerly to pick them up and pocketed them before he continued. "-Okay, so we have SOME money on us, but that's not going to be enough to get all six of us into an in. I'm way too beat ot use my one money maker-Wow, there's some more bits, let me grab those-Okay, I can't do any of my divining buffalo hockey right now, and beyond possibly working as a giggolo-two more bits, hang on-I don't think I can get us much. I mean, I could do something of a light show, but not much, and to be quite frank those two magic acts will draw-shiny stuff, mine-will draw attention we don't need. By Celestia's mane, I'd hate to be pressganged into becoming the town seer or some-coins, wow, lot of them, yoink- stuff like that. And to be quite frank I don't know what other marketable skills y'all have so-how did these bits end up in the hay like that? anyways- I can't start making educated guesses. On top of that, it's getting late, it's hostile-penny for my thoughts, don't mind if I do- territory , and we don't know what we can afford. Sooooo.....what can you do to make ussome money, you reckon?" And then Luck noticed the jingle in his pocket that had been growing as they had went along. He stopped and found a modest amount of money had been picked up. It wouldn't last all six of them long, but find the right inn or even a possibly nice person, and they might just have shelter for the night. He stopped and looked at Zephyr. "What can I say, when you got it you got it. Shame this place doesn't have a casino. C'mon, let's look for a place" (STORY TWIST! What if someone comes looking later for that money and can trace it to Luck after he spends it? Pennies for thoughts) (And a Bonus Point! Stopping to pick up money is ,qutie frankly, not a dignifed look. It's certainly not threatening. If Luck's been scaring people off because he looked like a battlemage, that illusion of persona has probably been destroyed. Cry havoc, and let loose the ponies of consequence!)
Zephyr looks at Luck with a stupid grin on his face, chuckling as he keeps finding money all over the floor. "We should hook you up with a magnet or something hehe." He continues to listen to Luck ramble on. Well... I have ways of getting some quick money, but it's kind of tricky, and I'd need some help with it. Interested? (How do you trace money you've dropped?)
(It happens. Albeit this is an immeadiate thing, but you can retrace your steps looking for money, and along the way you ask about anyone who's likely to see and remember and play nice with you if they remember who picked it up. Luck IS essentially dressed like Trixie[read ostentaciously], so he WOULD stand out in memory. From there, you ask around along the path if people remember where he went, you should get enough fragments of information to hunt him down and pound his face it-or worse, reveal you needed that money for the herbalist so you can take care of your child and mourn when it's already spent) Luck genuinely grinned for the first time that day. "Magnets ain't got nothing on me. When I need stuff or want stuff, I can usually get it without much worry initially" "As for your plan, I'm all ears, but, well...I'm kind of spent, so take that into account" (OOC NOTE: For background, I traded hardcore telekinesis for luck. THe way I see it is something like cheat codes-yes, you can produce an immeadiate YES! resolution to some things, but by doing so you cut out all the steps that might give you all sorts of stuff along the way that will make later objectives anywhere from easier to do to possible. Byt cutting the corners with luck, later tasks will be much harder or not even possible. Also, it's not something Luck controls, which I'm gonna have trouble portraying...I might have to do luck rolls or something)
When Kamlin entered the building he was only a rookie of the Reavers he was pushed by a bigger pony and yelled "Weres your squad we sent you on a simple mission and you couldn't get that right!". "Look there is a group of ponies that can be life-therating to this organization their names are Clef, Kidd, Zephyr, Luck, and Eden," Kamlin said, the pony looked at him. "Fine.... Your a trust worthy pony but because of the squad you are getting 10 whippings," the pony smiled, Kamlin was placed on a wall and a well-built pony whipped him several times even more then ten. Kamlin held in his screams because he didn't want to look weak. After the whippings he told the what looks like the commander crude descriptions of the ponies (mostly Luck because he barley knew him). "There try to find these ponies," he smirked. The bounty was 200 bits for Clef, 150 bits for Kidd, 150 for Luck, Zephyr was 150 bits, and Eden was to be kept alive and brought to the organazation. After a few minutes they created multiple posters and posted them everywhere in the town. OOC: Well I just made this 100% worser for us!
Eden watched, Discord's advice still echoing through his head. "Which one?", he breathed. GM: This is the first time where your renegade/paragon actions will effect the story. However, Clef is the one who has the lowest score besides Eden. And Clef was healed of his Renegade side, so now to the next active player score... Eden swooped down on the group. He slowed as he neared them, and he landed lightly alongside Luck. "Luck.", he whispers into his ear. "I need to talk to you."
