"I'm not sure if you like me like I do you, or if you're just being nice..." Steel said, fearing the feedback and showing it by shying away
She stared at him. "I beg your pardon?" She leaned forward, and gave him a peck on the lips. "You're supposed to be a brilliant army general."
Steel smiled and returned the kiss. "Sorry...I get nervous around beautiful mares." He laughed, then playfully frowned. "Guess I have to call you something more affectionate than giggles now..."
"Giggles is fine." she replied. "If you give me a pet name, I will become ill, and thereby avoid the situation."
"Okay, Giggles." Steel laughed, beaming wider than he ever had. "My mom was right. You are the best partner that could've come on this mission..."
"Sure. Not all fourty miles to the hive...but how about...that road. The dirt crossway, where the old roads used to intersect? That's about two miles. Think that's good?" Steel asked
"Nah." Steel said, leaning forward so he could buck the ground with his hind legs and shoot forward. It was only two miles...
Steel leapt at the word as well, already starting to fall behind. He took a deep breath and pushed himself, catching up.
Steel got a fire in his eye and shot forward. "C'mon! Thought I was slow, huh?" He said, still gaining speed
She laughed, and shot him a dazzling smile, and her eyes twinkled. Steel's mind grew a little foggy. "Just try and beat me!" she laughed, leaping into action, sprinting.
Steel shook his head fast and shot forward, not enough to match Sparrow. "What was that?! Not saying it was terrible..."
"That, my dear, was not even the full extent of my abilities. You have seen nothing yet." She said, a smile on her face.
"Never can say the thing I thought would finally best me would be love. Irony." Steel said, still trying to comprehend what happened
