"We could fly, if you think you could carry me." Steel said. "Then we would get there faster"

 

"I can't lift much at all...", rose said blushing

 

"Here...I can run for a while. How close are we?" Steel asked

 

"About three forths the way there from Canterlot..."

 

Steel snorted, threw his head back and hauled flank towards Manehattan

 

Rose kept a constant pace, cantering along steel,"you should use your legs more..."

 

"I'm a workhorse...I'm not used to running." Steel said.

 

Rose smiled,"maybe we can go for runs when this is over..."

 

"If...you...feel like...it...dear..." Steel panted

 

"Need to slow down?", rose asked with a giggle

 

"Yes." Steel said, slowing. "We almost there?"

 

Rose looked to the sky, then to the large city ahead,"just a hundred yard dear..."

 

Steel took another deep breath and ran into Manehattan

 

Rose disguised herself & went to Manehattan, ahead of steel,"I haven't been her for a few years, could you guide me?"

 

"Well...the hotel is there. I think we should check in. There's a restaurant in the lobby. I brought a lot of money. We can stay as long as you need." Steel said, walking Rose in.

 

Rose smiled,"as long as I like...", she said, thinking lightly

 

"Third floor, room six." Steel said, leading Rose to the elevator.

 

"It's been a while since I've seen one of these...", rose said, looking at the elevator

 

Steel led her into the room and locked the door and shut the blinds. "Okay, sweetheart. You're safe now." He said. "I made sure to get a room with no neighbors."

 

"Thank you, love.", rose said with a smile, then was engulfed in a dark purple flame, reappearing as her normal changeling self,"I like not being disguised, it makes me feel normal, & happy...", she said, wrapping her forelegs around steel, pushing him onto the bed & laying atop him
