A while later, Discord finally stirred. He sat up and looked around in confusion, taking a few minutes to remember what had happened, and a further few to believe it. He noticed Chysalis and smiled. "We really must stop imposing on Fluttershy like this,"
"Well I don't think she is in at the moment." Chrysalis says looking around. The house seems to be devoid of the yellow one~
Discord looked a little surprised. "So you brought me here on your own? I... thank you; I know that can't have been easy." He attempted to get up off the sofa, but he must have been a little weaker than he thought, and didn't quite make it. He sat back down, blushing a little.
Chrysalis then smiles and cuddles Discord. "I couldn't leave you to suffer in the forest." She says and sighs, snuggling close.
Too tired and choked with emotion to think up anything clever to say, Discord simply cuddled back and drifted off to sleep once more, smiling happily.
Chrysalis snuggles with him and nuzzles close. She was happy to help. It was... a good deed. She wonders if her time with Discord changed her that much.
After a good night's sleep, Discord felt a lot better. Being careful not to disturb Chrysalis, he got up and set about making them some breakfast. Fluttershy had still not returned, but he assumed she and her friends were busy sorting out what was left of Celestia's mess.
Chrysalis awoke and she sighed. She has no idea what happened but she does feel better. Maybe some time to think and rest was what she needed. She has been rther stressed after all.
"Oh good, you're awake!" Discord said, returning from the kitchen with a tray. "I made crumpets; seemed appropriate, and I didn't know whether you preferred tea or coffee, so I made both." He laid the tray on the table and sat down. "I just wanted to say thank you again for yesterday, and to apologise if I seemed angry at you for leaving the castle; I should have realised you wouldn't want to stay there. Have you thought any more about what you want to do?"
"I'll stay long enough to explain what we have done and make amends, but I cannot bring myself to live with ponies. My hive is where I belong whether I decide to help fix any issues I may of caused or If I were to resume my old habits." Chrysalis says, being honest about how she feels about it.
Discord nodded. "I can respect that." He had his regular visits with Fluttershy, but even he didn't live with ponies, preferring instead the privacy of his own house in it's strange dimension. He was just happy she was willing to talk with Celestia; he felt sure it was in the best interests of her and her hive in the long run. "Just, don't disappear on me again? Please?" Discord pleaded, "I like spending time with you, I feel like you understand things that ponies just can't."
Chrysalis then nods and gives him a hug. "That's a promise~" She says with a smile. She has made a friend in Discord. That was more than she ever expected and she felt happy for that.
Discord smiled and hugged back. "I'm glad to hear it." He sighed and looked at the clock. "I suppose we'd better head off soon..." If they were going to see the Princesses, Discord thought it would be best to try in the early evening; that was when Luna typically arose, and he felt her presence would be helpful in any discussions. It was only mid-morning now, but who knew how long it could take to get back to the castle? At any rate, Discord thought, they could probably stay here a while longer, at least until he'd finished his tea.
Chryslais watches the day pass as they relaxed for a bit. Her own memories from what drove to this and even the Wedding Indecent. She had embraced her curse, but for all the wrong reasons. Goes to show how much a dark heart can get darker. She may of been more beautiful at one point... but that day has long since past. That age when she was one with many others similar to the Royal Twins that now rule. Though back so long ago, the world wasn't as peaceful.
"What are you thinking about?" Discord inquired, noticing a slightly distant look on Chrysalis' face as he cleared up.
Chrysalis looks to Discord and smiles some. "Just thinking of old memories. Thinking about how much I've changed over the years and how different I was then compared to now. It's one of those things that makes you wonder about yourself sometimes." She says and sighs. "I just wish I wasn't so..." She couldn't find the word.
"Some of it is nostalgia but a lot of is reflection of my actions." Chrysalis says and sighs. "I went down a dark path after I was changed into... this. I haven't thought about it for a long time. I guess I come to accept my fate."
Discord frowned. "Changed? You mean, you weren't always a changeling?" All the changelings he'd met before had been hatched that way; he'd heard rumours of other species being assimilated into the hive, but he didn't realise it actually happened...
"Not always. In my much younger years, I was... not this. I was affected my a horrible magic that made me this way. I've just... never mentioned it because I've come to terms with what I am now. In anycase, that's not what we should be worrying about. About ready to go?" Chrysalis says, looking to Discord.
