"Yes, she's a darling, isn't she..." Discord muttered, darkly, thinking back on his own defeat by Twilight and her friends; he knew he was meant to be reformed, but the memory still hurt. "Still, I suppose that gives us another reason to break this spell on other ponies first; it might put some, love, back in the air." Discord said, pulling an icky face at the word. "You're going to need to be as powerful as we can get you, and even then we're going to have to find some way to deal with the Elements of Harmony... Urgh, so much planning!" He complained, putting his hands to his temples and shaking his head, "I don't know how that purple meddler does it!"
"Be happy that you don't have to rule over a whole kingdom. Those born to rule like myself and those loathsome Sisters ruling Equestria deal with things like this on a daily basis. The elements are not too much of a threat, As I said, my armor protects from any and all magic, physical and mental. Their elements are inconsequential. If you'd like, I could find some armor for you too if you are THAT worried about the Elements. Truthfully, even with Twilight's princesshood, she is a mere spec compared to the wrath of an age old ruler. She has much to learn about being one of us and I would hope she knows that resistance will be cause for harm... Though, if there is any hope to stop this, I don't want any unnecessary conflict." Chrysalis says, looking to be sifting through her own thoughts.
"I have ruled over a whole kingdom!" Discord cried, pacing about. "Well, perhaps rule isn't the right word; I didn't enforce anything as boring as rules, but I was the big cheese, numero uno, head honcho of all of Equestria! At least, until I was turned into stone. The first time. That was a long time ago though, I'm not sure you were even hatched then." He stooped pacing and looked at Chrysalis. "How old are you anyway?"
Chrysalis then sighs. "It's rude to ask a mare's age." She looks to the plans and she looks to of thought of something. "It is possible that... no. That couldn't possibly work. I don't know if anypony would be up to doing anything that dangerous..." Chrysalis seemed to have an idea.
Discord grinned. "I never did learn manners, but I do like danger; what do you have in mind?" He asked, teleporting behind Chrysalis to look at the plans.
"Well, since I brought it up. A short while back, I developed special crystals that can negate any magic in the surrounding air. The danger behind it is that it requires large amount of magic from it's holder to use at it's fullest extent. Most don't have magic pools of an mine, Luna, or Celestia's level so, unicorns can kill themselves using it. The risk is far too high to trust anypony with these crystals. Though, by chance, if I could use one to despell the magic in Ponyville, we could get help with Celestia for sure." Chrysalis says, still doubting how much it'll help. "The only thing making me unsure is the possibility of said dispelled magic regenning. Celestia is no slouch when it comes to magic."
"With any luck, the magic will either remain dissipated, or only return slowly; but there's only one way to find out! He who dares wins!" He exclaimed, grinning. "Or, uh, she... I suppose." He scratched his head.
Chrysalis nods and giggles. "You sure have a way of putting things." She says, continuing," Okay, I'll use the crystal. I just hope it works. The less ponies on us, the better." Chrysalis still in a bit of deep thought.
"Well, if you've got everything you need, I suppose we should be heading for Ponyville." He turned to leave. "Um, how do we get out?" He asked, looking around the tunnels in confusion.
Chrysalis giggles. "Leave it to the lady to help you out~" She says with a bit of cute tone, like she tease teasing him. She heads off first through the tunnels~
Discord blushed a little and followed; he wasn't used to needing assistance. "So this is what a Changeling hive looks like?" He asked, as they walked. "I've had dealings with your kind before, but I've never been inside a hive. It's uh... bigger, than I thought."
"I cannot say I'm surprised you wouldn't know about our hive systems. We keep them secret for a reason. We don't ponies waltzing in and destroying our livelihoods." Chrysalis says keep focused on the paths. "As for how huge it is, It can be a way to confuse those who happen to stumble in. That can give me and my hive the advantage to over come the said intruder before he or she has a chance to react."
"I suppose that makes sense. I've never really had anywhere to defend, so I've never really given it much thought. Although I do enjoy putting ponies in mazes..."
Chrysalis finds the entrance in the hive. "Well, I suppose it's time. We need to be quick about this if it is to be done~" Chrysalis headed out and she was ready to fight to regain what was lost. She never expected to use her resources to restore Equestria, but this was what was happening. She didn't like it but it had to be done.
"Yes... If I'm being totally honest, I think the lack of chaos and disharmony amongst the ponies of Equestria is causing my powers to weaken." Discord admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't know how quickly they will deteriorate, but I'd rather not find out." He looked at Chrysalis. "Have you been to Ponyville before?"
"I cannot personally say I have, but some of my scouts have. I know where to go to get there, but I know little about the ponies there other than the fact that the Elements make that town their home." Chrysalis says, sounding a bit concerned about how things will go.
"Oh, well then I can be your tour guide! I've gotten to know the place pretty well during my visits with dear Fluttershy..." He said, looking into the distance. "Although I suppose things may have changed since our last visit. Shall I teleport us to the outskirts?" He asked, looking back at her and offering his paw. "Appearing in the town centre would certainly be more dramatic, but tactically it leaves a lot to be desired. Or I suppose we could just walk there..."
"Well I suppose being teleported just outside town will save using too much of our energy~" Chrysalis says taking his hand. She wasn't sure why at first but she is enjoying the idea of working with Discord.
Discord grinned and clicked his talons, and with a flash, they appeared on the road to Ponyville, a short distance from Sweet Apple Acres. Or at least, Discord assumed it was Sweet Apple Acres; the sign now simply read 'Apple Orchard #26'. "How charming," Discord said, dryly, looking at the sign and the perfectly regimented trees lining the road.
Chrysalis could already feel a difference in the air. There is a oppressive magic at work here for sure. Even she didn't expect Celestia to be able to do this, she was proven wrong. She would be impressed if she wasn't so disgusted by ponies. "Things do feel different here. The energy is not as friendly as it use to be. I dought Canterlot is any better feeling. Alright, let's make this quick." She moves towards town shifting into a typical pony and she readies the crystal she hopes to use on the area to despell the magic.
