"Uh oh. The tunnel didn't turn you into a filly did it? It does that sometimes..." Discord admitted, scratching his head.
Chrysalis then sighs. "Great, now I'm in my state of when I was a little Princess... This is just flippin' great... What else cou-" She stops herself. "Actually I don't wanna know what else could go wrong..." She admits in her frustration.
Discord chuckled. "Don't worry; you still look really intimidating! Now, can you keep up, or do you want me to carry you?" He asked, with barely contained mirth, as he headed towards the town.
"I suppose since this was kinda your fault, I wouldn't mind being carried..." Chrysalis says with a bit of a blush. She has been carried in ages and this will be rather embarrassing for her. She hopes she still has the same level of pooled energy to use on the Crystal. This may be an issue if she can't use it.
"I was joking, but as you wish," Discord said with a grin. He picked up the small changeling and rested her on his shoulder. "Don't worry; the effect should wear off soon," he said, walking along the road. He decided to head for a small cliff overlooking the town, to get a better idea of what they were dealing with.
Chrysalis smiles a little and feels better knowing that it could ware off. She still was more focused on dispersing the local energy. If it was possible to do so, they could break a huge piece off from Celestia's power. "Hmmm. I just realized something. Breaking the magic here would weaken Celestia much more significantly. The magic in the other areas would be easier to disperse and some areas may just dissipate without the crystal's power."
"Well, that would certainly be helpful!" Discord agreed, as they made it to the top of the cliff. He pulled out a telescope and studied the town. "Ooh, looks like they've got all the buffalo holed up in a pen over there! I smell a distraction..." He steepled his fingers and grinned mischievously.
Chrysalis hops off and shortly after she does, it seems the magic of that warp wore off on her. She was back to normal size. She didn't pay that any mind, rather the level of power she'd have to use to fix this. She'd have to not hold back her magic at all. She takes a deep breath and she readies for the worst. Something about her eyes have changed. A burning fire that was never there before, she was more determined then ever before.
Discord looked at Chrysalis, noting the changes both obvious and subtle. "I don't know what happened last time, but try and be careful, ok? I'd rather not have to peel you off the floor again after you do your thing!" He said it jovially, but there was a hint of sincerity to his plea; he had been a little worried by Chrysalis' unconsciousness in Ponyville, and he had a feeling he was still going to need her help for a while longer yet. He also couldn't help but like the Changeling Queen; perhaps it was that she was considered a villain too, but he didn't feel like she was secretly judging him, like he did when he spent time with ponyfolk...
"Don't worry about me. I know what I'm doing this time. I wanted measure what the Crystal could do and this time I know the amount I need." She moves into town once Discord was ready to make his distraction. She shifts into the kinda ponyfolk that lived here and made her way toward the center of town. She had to do this. She for that moment felt like she freeing her own kind though they were not. She felt like her kind and these ponies were not all that different. Some will be ignorant, others will be curious. We cannot hope to sway the hearts of all but those who so your effort will thank you without saying it. She looks around to see that the distraction was working and she readies the crystal, wasting no time. She let;s her body be over run with magic and she fills the Crystal faster than last time. She lets it float high up as she still fills it. It'll be ready soon. Hopefully she could leave once it was done.
The buffalo didn't take much convincing to go along with Discord's plan; they didn't take kindly to being penned in by the ponies, and were happy to stampede through the town, causing mayhem. Discord floated about over head as they did so, freezing any unicorns attempting to cast spells at the buffalo, and occasionally conjuring up a shelf full of crockery for them to plow into. His bull in a chinashop act proved a successful distraction, he just hoped it would buy Chrysalis the time she needed.
Chrysalis feels it maxing out and she unleashes the magic, dispersing Celestia's control on the land. As suspected, it seemed to do heavy damage to the still covered places. She could feel those place's magics weakening. It wasn't long now till they took on Celestia. Chrysalis was a bit tired but she maintained this time. She'd jsut needed to recover form the use of magic power.
The ponies stopped trying to corral the buffalo and looked around in confusion. The buffalo took a few more opportunistic little kicks and head-butts, but they'd obviously connected with the ponies over the last few years, and most went to help the confused equines. None seemed to pay much heed to the Changeling in their midst, or to the Draconequus heading towards her. "Hey! Good job!" Discord exclaimed, patting Chrysalis on the back. "I knew we'd make a great team! And you're still awake! That's good. How do you feel?"
"Tired. But it's manageable this time. I just need time to recover." Chrysalis says, sounding a bit winded. She did seem to have a better handle this time. "So where to next?" She asks, looking to Discord.
"Well," Discord said, producing his trusty map, "We have a choice; I suppose we should at least check on Manehatten and Cloudsdale, but there's also a small town on the coast, Horsehead Bay, that I'd like to visit." He looked a little sheepish. "My, uh... my family's there..." "Of course, we can rest first if you want!" He added, looking around. "No-pony seems to be lighting torches or throwing rocks at us here; I guess the Buffalo must have told them we're not responsible."
Chrysalis nods as they take a moment to catch their breath. It was tiresome to do what they need to do, but it is necessary. She took a deep breath and sighed. She still had a bit to go before fighting Celestia.
"Um, excuse me? Mrs Changeling?" mumbled a slightly scared looking earth pony colt, who had trotted over to them. "I just wanted to thank you for helping us! And, um... I've never seen a Changeling before; can you really change into anything you want?" He asked, looking up at her curiously.
Chrysalis looks to this scared colt. She almost smiled at the amount of fear in his voice, but she remained leveled. She has never really has ever been asked about her, though this question had an obvious answer. "Of course. I've mastered nearly every form known to pony kind. The centuries of practice as the Queen of my kind requires my knowledge in such things. Why do you ask?"
"I was just curious is all; this is the most exciting thing to happen here in forever! Could you... could you turn into a zebra? I ain't never seen one of them neither, 'cept in books and such..." The colt's look of awe changed to one of sheepishness. "Um, if you're not to busy that is..." He looked at the floor and scuffed his hoof. Discord watched on and chuckled silently.
"I suppose. It would hardly any effort at all." Chrysalis says, she could do this once for him since she is resting otherwise anyway. She focuses her magic and she shifts into a zebra with rather ease. The details similar to Zecora's though there were a few notable differences like the lack of accessories.
