Discord made a put-out face. "You're more of a party pooper than Twilight! ...But I suppose you have a point." He sighed. "Alright then, where next?" He asked, offering his paw, ready to transport them to their next exciting destination.
"Well I'd like to knock out Cloudsdale next. I think they could be helpful allies for stopping Celestia." Chrysalis says talking Discord's paw. She didn't want him to be sad though. "You've been more help then you know. If I or you did this on our own, we would fail."
Discord looked slightly embarrassed. "Yes, well; I suppose that's the crux of this friendship thing Fluttershy keeps trying to hammer into me..." He clicked his talons, and they appeared in the clouds just outside Cloudsdale. "Hmm. Can you charge that thing on the move?" Discord asked, with a hint of urgency. He could already see a wing of pegasi closing on their position, so he didn't think stealth would be an option here; they would just have to stay one step ahead of their perusers.
"That'll be no problem. With my power increasing, this should be a simple task. I just will need to keep two things in mind." Chrysalis says as they fly, pulling out the crystal. She began charging it immediately, in hopes to reverse the magic before they get caught. (I think some good music would help. Ambush)
"Let's split up," Discord suggested, as they plunged through a cloud. He took a form he had used once before; that of a huge monstrous crow, and split off in the opposite direction from Chrysalis as they left the cloud, hoping to draw some of the attention from her. He was much more agile in this form, and managed to fly circles around the slower pegasi, but in the distance, he could see the unmistakeable contrails of the Wonderbolts. They were running out of time... (That's pretty good. Game soundtracks do make good background music. I mean... Ah, you know what I mean )
Chrysalis smiles. "I guess it's time to show my true power~" Chrysalis says as she began glowing and splitting into many Chrysalis clones. They all flew into multiple directions. That split up the cumbersome groups pretty significantly. Chrysalis had very few still on her tail and the Crystal is fully charged. She just needed a way to get enough distance to cast the crystal's power. She saw the Cloudsdale Colosseum and smiles. She began glowing a bright green and she flew at very fast speeds under the cloud floor and went up through the center of the arena flying directly upwards. It was then she let the crystal get a bit ahead of her and she unleashed the magic in it. The magic dispersed in Cloudsdale shortly after. She looked behind her to see Spitfire all confused. She was so close to caught it was not funny. Chrysalis took a deep breath and sighed in relief. (Yeah. The music from it's respective game was used for trap rooms where you had to do a area challenge against common monsters or a few bosses.)
Discord saw the bright flash above the Colosseum, and noticed that the pegasi behind were no longer chasing him, but rather staring at him in horror. He quickly dove into a cloud, and re-emerged from the other side in his normal form before making his way to regroup with Chrysalis.
Chrysalis lands on the clouded ground in Cloudsdale and looks around in the sky for Discord. She knew he was here someplace. Curious and scared ponies were watching her as she search with her eyes. She didn't say a word nor did the pegasi.
"Ah, another jubilant celebration of our great victory I see!" Discord quipped, looking at all the pegasi as he rose out of the clouds next to Chrysalis. "Would it kill them to say thank you?"
"Ponies will be fearful and prejudice... It's to be expected" Chrysalis says and sighs. "Our next stop is the Crystal Empire. With any hope, I can get this done without miss Princess of Love accusing me of invading her home. She is still sore about what I did at the Royal Wedding..."
"From what I've seen of the ponies under the influence of this magic, they are near-emotionless; emotion is too unpredictable for pure order. She may remember you, but she will hold no grudge, she will simply attempt to deal with you as the threat you currently are." Discord shuddered at the thought of such bland, binary decision making. He smiled at the assembled ponies. "Greetings! I know you ungrateful mules don't trust our kind, but the sake of all of Equestria, we may need your help to liberate Canterlot. Please, see Princess Twilight in Ponyville to see how you can be of assistance!" He handed out a few fliers to some confused looking Pegasi, before returning to Chrysalis. "Right, that's my diplomacy used up for the week, but it may buy us some assistance when it comes to Canterlot." He extended his paw for what was hopefully the penultimate time, almost a little sad that their adventure might soon be over. "To the Crystal Empire then?"
Chrysalis nods and she takes his paw. It was time to knock out the second to last place. The effort they have went through will not go to waste. Celestia has gone too far to be not stopped. They have everything to gain and nothing more to lose.
Appearing on a hill outside the city, Discord realised pretty quickly that they were going to have their work cut out for them; the shielding spell that had been used to defend against Sombra was active once more, and somehow he knew how it was keyed against this time. "Hmm. Any suggestions?" He asked, turning to look at Chrysalis.
Chrysalis chuckles and sighs. "Oh Cadence you sweet, sweet fool. You are making an amateurish mistake." She says, obviously speaking to herself before she looks to Discord. "Sorry, are you talking about the barrier? It's nothing I couldn't bypass. Such barriers have a few weaknesses. One is against a spell breaching technique I've perfected in the past 1000 years." She walks up to the barrier and she focuses on it with her magic. Her mouth opens wide and a magic ball forms in her mouth. She soon fires the magic energy at the barrier and it forces open a hole in the magic making the barrier. "There we go."
"Huh. Well I'm glad you're on my side!" Discord said, grinning as he stepped through the hole. The scene he found on the other side was... quieter than he'd expected. All their other incursions had required sneaking or running, but here there was no-one to run or hide from. "Where is everypony?" Discord wondered aloud, as he looked down an abandoned street. Either Celestia had pulled all her forces back to Canterlot, or this was some kind of trap...
Chrysalis then sighs. "We cannot afford to be bumbling around. This is obviously a trap. Keep an eye out for anything suspicious" She says looking around as they made a slow approach to the Castle. She wasn't about to use her crystal yet. She knew that as soon as she used it, they would be trapped.
"Hmm..." Discord looked around until something caught his eye, something outside the shield bubble; something glittering on the hill they arrived on. He pulled out his telescope and examined it. "Well that can't be good..." All the crystal ponies were standing outside the bubble. Discord had a horrible feeling they had already walked into the trap... "Now that I have you here, I have a proposal to put to you," A disembodied voice rang out. Discord recognised it as Cadence's, but it was completely monotone. "Celestia will allow you return to your hive, Chrysalis, and you to Ponyville, Discord, in exchange for the cessation of your mindless assault. She will even allow both locations to remain in their disorganised state, if you so wish; but if you persist in your actions, I shall forcibly instil order in you both. It is your choice."
Chrysalis just laughs. "You really think you scare me? You are even a bigger fool than I thought. If you would like to have a piece though, I'd be happy to take up the offer of kicking your flank into next Tuesday!" Chrysalis seemed rather collected. "Don't worry, Discord. I have a plan. The great genius plan of Cadence's has a few flaws. While she has us trapped, she has removed any chance of protection to the now vulnerable Crystal Heart. That and my crystal are our keys to stopping this." Chrysalis says telepathically. Her horn now glowing with magic. Meanwhile a Chrysalis clone in the form of a guard walks toward the Crystal Heart in the Castle. This was a game of chance. If the clone is caught, this would most definitely will be the end for Discord and Chrysalis.
Discord raised an eyebrow at Chrysalis' voice suddenly projecting into his head, but tried not to give any reaction that might give them away. "You're going to remove the Crystal Heart?" he thought back, "I've been in that castle; the Heart's right next to the main chamber! If she turns around at the wrong time, we're scuppered! We'll have to keep her distracted..." "Oh mighty Cadance!" He cried, stepping forwards and bowing exaggeratedly, "Forgive my companion's blunt words! Her hooves aren't the only things with holes in them; between you and me, I think her brain has turned to Swiss cheese too!" "Act outraged!" He thought, hoping Chrysalis could still hear him. "The two of us bickering is something believable she'll have to deal with!"
"I'm actually going to use the magic of the Crystal Heart amplify the magic of the crystal. The combined power will hopefully fully despell the control here." Chrysalis say to Discord mentally. "You wanna talk about holes in brains!! Wait until my horn impales your head! Then we will see who has a brain with holes!!" She screams, doing as Discord instructed. She prays this works.
