Next in was the hearts. Gear was in wide open plains with only a few trees, Fireheart was in the Tundra, Cobra apron a snowy mountain, Steel was on the outskirts of a beach and Robin was in the same Urban environment as Crimson. Robin didn't exactly want to waste time so he ran through the streets before heading into a skyscraper with a sign on it. The sign read Marks Co. All five of them knew what they were going to do head for the mountain.
Crimson's ears picked up at the sound of movement as he prepared a sniper rifle for an opponent. After some looking, he found Robin inside a skyscraper and smiled. Once the barrel was loaded, Crimson pulled a clip from his ammo belt and loaded the rifle with a custom magazine. It appeared Robin was searching for something, like an exit or information. Smiling, he aimed down his signs and activated his built in stealth armor, which instantly made him invisible. "Armor Piercing 308. rounds, Jacketed with "casing" of silver and tipped with a hollow point, which contains an explosive charge of an incendiary device." Crimson then aimed town as time seemed to travel slower to him, to the point it almost stopped. "I feel sorry for you...." Crimson's rifle avoided the use of a red dot sight, as the dot itself could give himself away. Something he did not want. He then fired the round as it crashed straight through the office window, hopefully taking his opponent by surprise. He then disappeared as soon as he could from the bell tower, jumping down and landing like nothing happened with his stealth device still on as he ran for new cover.
"BUCK, seems I've got company." He wasted no time in climbing to the roof of the Skyscraper. Firing a grappling arrow to a fire exit of a nearby apartment complex. As soon as it hit he tied the other end to a gargoyle and jumped off. Making sure to make contact with the rope on the way down. Meanwhile Steel activated a bubble shield around him. Slowing him down but increasing his defense's. He continued on walking away from the beach and into the jungle that connected to it.
Crimson prepared himself in a better position as Robin jumped around and avoided a shot that would have instantly killed him. He was lucky, Crimson had him zoned in the entire time. Now that he knew what he was up against, Crimson prepared another shot as his opponent shot a grappling hook to a nearby complex. Crimson focused again, as he now took cover in the open on the top of a skyscraper. He watched as Robin jumped as time seemed to slow down again, and took another shot. This time however, his shot hit his target, burying itself in Robins hoof and setting it on fire. If it were against a weaker opponent with less armor, it would have blown the leg off. The shot was not fatal, it did however cause a large amount of damage and but also revealed his position. He moved again as he swung from the buildings like a monkey and landed on a stone courtyard below. The landing caused his stealth device to deactivate and would take a while to recover. Even with his device disabled, he was one of the best Eternals in the art of stealth. He changed his sniper rifle to a lever action rifle. He might be facing an archer, but the two were vastly different in timelines. He was in Crimson's playground, and he was about to be taught the rules. Meanwhile, the rest of Starlight started to travel towards the mountain.
"Ihave you know." robin pulled back his bow as soon as he got inside. He loaded up a special timed explosive arrow and fired. Hitting Crimson in an unarmoured spot. It quickly beeped from 3 to 1 before exploding. Leaving a cloud of dust. Robin wasn't sure about how strong this Crimson was but he knew one thing if he was the crimson he knew then it was going to be a tough match. He finally washed his hoof and used some cream he found in the apartments medicine cabinet. Finally he made his way out towards the mountain.
The beasts went through the portal, some running, some just walking. Dreamer came out into an open field, and immediately started walking, humming a light tune. Lola landed in a dark forest and was quick to grumble something rude about nature. Kat dropped in a snowy tundra area, not far from Midnight. Jack found himself in a small town, abandoned at the base of a mountain. Obsidian... Obsidian never came out. "What's this? Where is the competitor Obsidian? He seems to be missing!" Red announced to the confused and shocked audience. Jack smiled and held up the ruby from Obsidian's chain. He threw it to the ground, shattering it. A red mist came from the gem, which slowly took the form of Obsidian. He shook his head and roared. Jack's little plan had worked. He and Obsidian were together already. They started away from the town, with the biggest advantage of all.
"That miserable... it seems that Jack aims to cheat. This is annoying, but not unexpected." Luna looked at the map with disgust, as the crowd booed. Silver sighed and stepped through the portal, the rest of his team following close behind. The spectators were angry about something. He wasn't sure what it was, but his gut told him that Jack was somehow involved. Silver emerged fifty feet over the cauldron of an active volcano. As he spread his wings and sped away from the pool of molten rock, he swore inwardly at whatever fool pony was responsible for working the portal. Cricket emerged on a wide open plain, with little cover save for the tall grass. She took the form of a green coated, green maned Earth Pony and crouched down, hoping to camoflage herself. Moon Shine emerged inside a cave filled with strange crystal formations. She looked around, took a swig from her flask, and began searching for a way out. Blackout emerged in a small grove of trees. He climbed one to get a look around, and discovered that the grove sat near the edge of a large grassy plain. Holly emerged in the middle of a fight between Robin and Crimson. She took advantage of their distraction and snuck away quietly. Silver's voice came through the amulets. "Night Guards! Report!"
Dreamer continued humming and walking until he tripped over Cricket immediately jumping up and backing away from the unexpected opponent. Obsidian sighed. "This feels wrong Jack." Jack smiled and replied simply. "It's not against the rules." Lola's robots unmirrored and crawled out of her mane. Each one had scanned the strongest members of the enemy teams. Each transformed into a larger pony shape and pulled out replicas of the teams weapons. One had Jack's sword. One had Silver's dual blades. Another had Moonsaber. The last had a fancy bow. "Come on. We have a contest to win." She started walking towards the only light she saw, which was presumably and opening in the woods.
Cricket, still in pony form, helped Dreamer up. "Oh, thank goodness! I've been lost out here for days! I was afraid that nopony would ever find me! My name is Ivy, what's yours?"
Dreamer looked over the transformed Cricket. His eyes went blank for a second. "There is a 3% chance of you not being the changeling from the enemy team. So... I'm going to run..." Dreamer smiled and saluted the pony before taking off, running.
"Well, that was anticlimactic, Red." "These ponies know what they're doing, Blue. Just watch the show." "Hmm... that did not go as planned, but still..." Cricket watched as Dreamer vanished from sight. She chose not to follow him. Blackout's voice came through her amulet. "Hey, beautiful. How are you doing out there?" "I am well. I met one the Beasts, but he ran off." "Good. Just be careful. He may be trying to throw you off your guard." "I am aware of that, darling. Where are you?" "I'm in a small grove of trees. There are plains all around me, and some mountains to the northeast." "Stay put. I am on my way." Cricket returned to her Changeling form, picked up her spear, and took off to find her husband. Silver sniffed the air. The smell of brimstone was heavy, but he was also able to detect the scent something far more dangerous than the lava. "Ryborian. Venquis Razona is near." "Buckin' caves... this thing ain't workin' right!" Moon Shine glared at the amulet that hung from her neck. The crysal formations were preventing her from communicating with her allies. She had been wandering through the cave for nearly an hour, searching for an exit. Finally, she stumbled across what appeared to be an old mining camp. A minecart sat on some old tracks that led to a light in the distance. Now that had found the way out, she could relax. She began to explore the camp, searching for anything useful. Holly moved quickly through the city, staying low and sticking to the shadows. She hated cities.
Venquis was aware of Silvers presence. The Ryborian was levitating slightly in the air with his legs crossed as if he were busy figuring something out, or trying to do something. He was busy trying to perform a ‘link’ to use, so he could determine friend and foe. Outside the arena, Venquis was a good friend to Silver and a powerful ally. Today, was a change. After a brief moment, the Eriborian broke the silence yet remained in the air still looking away into the horizon. The Jumbotron focused almost solely on the encounter between the Eriborian and The Night Guard. “Beautiful, is it not” Venquis spoke. “Ancient Ryborians worshiped Volcanos as sacred places from which the gods slumbered. The power of it’s molten lava literally shapes the earth to the form it pleases. Like an artist painting a masterpiece. And like all masterpieces, many admire the simplicity and form that the artist creates it’s work with.” Venquis then stood normally and turned around to face Silver. Silver would have noticed something out of the ordinary; his red eyes were brighter than usual. “Fighting you will not only be an honour, but it will also be personal to me as well. When the walls come tumbling down, when you lose everything you have, you always have family. My family were butchered all those years ago in Necomia when Equestria attacked. You could say that, you and the rest of the republic and my race are the family I never had." “Yet again. We both know why we are here....” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He had to admit, the explosive arrow that Robin had managed to hit him with had hurt....slightly. After looking around to see his opponent disappearing, he assumed he left for the mountain. He holstered his weapons and decided to do the same, leaving one of the biggest advantages he had. Priority called, and getting to that mountain was top of the list. Luckily, he knew exactly where his squadmates were, and were heading towards the mountain.
"I like you, Venquis, but that doesn't mean that I won't kill you." Silver grinned and flew slowly towards the Ryborian, swords drawn. "There is something... different... about you, Ryborian. I have a feeling that this will be fun." Silver dove into the lava, splashing a wave of molten rock at Venquis. He reappeared from the pool several seconds later, laughing. "Care to join me for a swim, Venquis?"
"A quick dive wont hurt." Venquis said as he then jumped into the molten lava, and then appeared perfectly fine afterwards. To other races, this was fatal. To Ryborians, they were gifted with such a trait to make Lava harmless. Venquis then floated above the lava once he reappeared, pulling Moonsaber out from it's holster. His eyes glowed brighter as well, the reddish glow being bright enough to be almost visible in the dark. The Lava was starting to freeze over, like Ice over water. "When i was gifted these powers, Sihana also gave me something special. Powers that make me more than a match for any opponent in the tournament." The Ryborian was then suddenly enveloped with red and blue electrical sparks constantly forming around him, not to mention the sudden earthquake once the lighting appeared. Moonsaber also glowed as the blade soon had it's own glow. These changes were drastic, but were merely the beginning. His black and red mane soon turned into a brilliant white that became smooth as ridged as it grew down too just before to where a cutie mark would be allocated. Other than the mane changes and the astronomical surge in power that could be felt throughout the entire arena, the Ryborian barely changed physically. The only changes being a small increase of muscle mass and the muscle tone being sharply defined. A brand new Venquis stood before the lunar pegasus. Envelloped with a rainbow like aura with blue and red electrical sparks. The lava which he floated above gave the Ryborian the appearance of a god, and an absolute terror to his enemies. “Iam the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. I'am Tybera Venquis.” The Ryborian then pointed Moonsaber at Silver, smiling. “This will be fun. I look forward to this experience as a training exercise, the reason I entered under Celestia’s team. May the best fighter win....”
"Sweet Celestia! Did you see that, Blue?!" "I did, Red, but I'm having trouble believing it... did they just..." "...Dive into lava. They did. What the buck ARE these ponies?!" Silver flew lazily toward Venquis, yawning. "You forget that I am incapable of feeling fear. Your attempts to intimidate me, while impressive, are also quite useless." He grinned. "Let's do this." In an instant, Silver covered the remaining distance between himself and Venquis, and drove his blade towards the Ryborian's throat.
Kat sniffed around the area around her. Her entire form was encased in white and she changed into her cat form, taking her chainsaw in her mouth and following the scent she had picked up on. It was the smell of royal blood and confidence. She knew Midnight wasn't her favorable enemy to be following to get to the target, but he was all she had. Fortunately, even if she got a bit too close to him, she would at least be camouflaged in the snow, since her fur was solid white. Jack and Obsidian passed by the opening to a large cave, with some tracks from a mining operation coming out, and some glittering gems obvious in the entrance. "A ruination of mother's jewelry." Jack laughed. "Do you truly refer to the planet as your mother?" Obsidian laughed and walked up to the entrance to the cave. "Is she not all our care-taker? Does she not raise us all? We are born of her, and die by her hands. With some seemingly obvious exceptions..." Obsidian's voice echoed in the cave. Jack walked up and slapped him. "You sound like a religious nutjob. Come on, we have a competition to win." Obsidian sighed and shook his head. "Give me a moment to show respect for the animals disturbed by this operation." Jack shrugged and leaned against the wall of the rocks dug into. Lola ran, trying to get out of the twisting jungle and finally managed to escape, only to find herself on an open plain, with trees on all sides. She yelled angrily, her voice echoing in the air and telling her location to every nearby competitor. She silently cursed herself for the yelling and started running to the far side of the field. (figure I'll start a couple conflicts because reason.)
Steel heard Kats scream and followed it as he continued through the jungle. When he got to the edge of it he spotted her. Staying in the foliage to avoid detection. Though he also saw another pony come across the plains in a white and green lab coat. "Gear?" Steel spoke softly as the pony crossed paths with Kat.
"What the hay was that, Red?!" "I don't know, Blue... sweet Celestia! Look at the clock!" "What? Now way! How is this possible?" "I don't know, Blue... we'd better call in an a expert." -Five Minutes Later- "And we're back. Joining us to explain what just happened is The Doctor!" "Doctor Who?" "Just 'The Doctor.' Of course, some of the Ponyville folks have taken to calling me 'Doctor Whooves.'" "Okay, Doctor. Care to tell us what happened?" "It's a little bit complicated... It started when a monumentally stupid plothole called 'Rainbow Crasher' decided to... -One very long and complicated explaination later- "...So, after some timey-wimey stuff, we find ourselves in the past." "My brain hurts, Red." "Mine too, Blue."
Crimson noticed something happening to his watch, as time itself were reversing itself. The clock on his pipbuck was going in reverse, a phenomenon that he has never experienced. When it stopped, he was four days into the past. “Did I just go back in time?” Crimson said to himself. Technical error or not, the sky itself was being affected. It went from night to day then night again rapidly. Clouds zoomed past as the sky adjusted itself to meet its criteria across the entire arena. By the time it stopped, a beautiful sunset sat across the sky. Crimson understood that a paradox had just happened, but wanted to know exactly how such an occurrence happened. He continued to be on his way as he traveled towards the mountain. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Time to get serious with Ven...) Venquis seen the blade of Silver’s aim for his neck and dodged the attack, performing a leg sweep while doing so. To ensure no disadvantages in the fight, Venquis froze the lava itself as it turned into solid rock by placing his hoof in the molten rock while Silver was down. When he seen Silver try and get himself up, he closed the distance between them almost within the blink of an eye as he delivered a blow that would instantly kill any pony in his stomach. Silver however, was not a normal pony, so he survived the blow but was critically injured because of it. He then lifted Silver into the air with one of his newest powers, Tyberthian telekinesis, the strongest form of telekinesis known that put him on par with a demi-god. His hoof then pointed at Silver as an overwhelming pain rushed through Silver’s body, he was being crushed, alive. Knowing that Silver’s biggest advantage was the sky, he removed that chance for him to get into that position by directing some of the force into his wings. Not only could he hear them crack and break them to render them useless, Venquis then formed two magic objects. A spear and a axe. “Thian gwello elsiasua vos krept!” Venquis spoke as the weapons then flew towards Silver. The Axe flying towards Silver as it teleported behind his back and completely severed his wings while being stuck into his back, while the spear flew directly into the Night Guard and impaled him. Once the damage was done, he threw him into the ground with the force of getting hit by a train. Getting into stance, he pulled out Moonsaber and got into stance. “There will be no more “puppets”. There will be no more genocide on my people. As long as I’m alive, Sihana willing, I will strike down with great vengeance and anger of those who harm the ones I love. And you will know that my name is Venquis Lian Razona, when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”
Luna watched, horrified, as Silver's wings were severed. "Oh, my... Venquis should not have done that. Silver will take such an attack... personally." Silver stood up and looked at Venquis with pure hatred. "The Night Princess ordered me to show restraint, Ryborian. That is the only thing keeping me from tearing out your heart right now. I have just one thing to say to you..." He sneered at Venquis, and spoke carefully. "Flesh. Time. Reverse. SLEN TIID VO!!!" A wave of magical energy covered Silver's body. Flesh and bone were healed as the Dragon magic did it's work. Within moments, he was completely healed. "You are out of your league, fool! Only one pony has ever been my equal, and it..." He flew at Venquis in a rage, slashing at his eyes, blinding him. "...IS..." He sliced the tendons in Venquis' legs, crippling him. "...NOT..." Laughing like a madpony, he brought his blade down on Venquis' horn, slicing it cleanly off. "...YOU!!!" A final thrust to spine, and Venquis was paralyzed. Silver looked down at his opponent and laughed. "Fool. Where is your precious Sihana now? At this moment, I have the power to decide your fate. I have power over life and death. It is an intoxicating feeling, to have such power. It is like being a... a god." A dark look passed over Silver's face. "This ends now, Venquis Razona. No more tricks, no more games. Give Sihana my regards!" He swung his sword at the helpless Ryborian's neck.
