"But I prefer your company over anything else, Charlie..." Stardust's face was growing increasingly red. "B-because I l-love you..." She said.
Levi chirped and crawled outside, quickly scanning the area. "Hey, Levi is something wrong?" Stardust asked, concerned. Then, a booming, deep, disturbing voice called out, "STAAAAAAARDUUUUUUST!!!!" She froze, not daring to move a muscle as Levi came back in, cowering in her arms.
Rex gave a vicious growl and stood in front Charlie protectivly. Charlie coward behind Rex keeping Stardust close
Levi was ready to fight to the death, and charged out there, growing in size tremendously. About 10 minutes later, Levi crashed to the ground, mortally wounded. Stardust's eyes went wide, "NOOOO!!!" She screamed, running out there, not caring if the giant creature got her or not. The behemoth smashed a clawed hand in front of her, causing her to fall. Then it picked her up by one of her back legs, and tossed her into a wall. A sickening crack was clearly heard, reverberating throughout the area, immediately followed by a bloodcurdling scream.
Rex grew at a time.breaking pace as well growing to the same height as the monster. Rex snapped and snarled biting his teeth deep into the monster. It was evenly powered match.
The monster grabbed Rex by the throat, and slammed him to the ground, then into a wall, before knocking him out cold. It slowly approached Charlie, and smashed their little shelter, exposing her to its wrath. The beast was mechanoid, but also organic, something Charlie noticed just as it lifted one of its 4 legs, preparing to crush her. A small, weak voice called out, "Don't... please... Please,... I'm begging you... please don't hurt her..." It was Stardust, weakly crawling out towards the beast. It turned around, and watched her, revealing disturbingly familiar inscriptions on its back. "Please... she's all I have... please don't kill her..." Stardust sobbed, leaving a thick trail of blood as she tried to move.
Charlie growled as it came closer, no one hurts the love of her and her pet and gets away with it. "I bucking dare you to take a step closer." She snapped
The monster stopped, and grabbed Stardust, squeezing her tightly in its clawed hand. "Now... I will be free... free from your torturous ways, you accursed witch." It threw Stardust full-force at Charlie, and waited.
Charlie was knocked back hitting her head badly causing a horrible sound. She laid still on the ground a pool of crimson forming around her skull. Charlie was slowly loosing consciousness.
The beast laughed, and pressed a foot down on Stardust's legs, breaking them. This was their end, and they were going to die. Then, a familiar voice echoed through the large area, "Leave my mommas alone!" Krysis roared down the side of the cliff, and slammed into the beast, driving a large sword through his heart, "Auuuuuughhghghgh!!!" The monster crashed to the ground, dead.
Charlie's skull was craked and the only movement was the blood dripping from her mouth. She finally grew unconscious.
"Charlie... no, please... Charlie, please be alright... please... please..." Stardust dragged her crippled form to her side, "Charlie... no..." Stardust fell back, succumbing to her wounds and massive blood-loss. Krysis picked them up gently, along with Rex and Levi, both of which had shrunk, and carried them to safety.
The next morning Charlie had yet to wake up. Rex stayed by her protectivly not allowing any pony to pass, not even Stardust
Stardust, unconcious, was hooked up to Krysis, who was providing her with life-support. "Move please," Krysis asked Rex, sweetly rubbing his head. She had several new parts and pieces attached to her, from merging with other machines, making her look more fearsome and awe-inspiring than she really was. After Rex moved hesitantly, Krysis checked her stitchwork, and seeing as it was exactly as it should be, she continued monitoring Stardust. One thing was for certain: Charlie would wake up, ticked off, and with a slight headache probably; Stardust might not see Charlie's face ever again. She'd lost too much blood, and her brutal injuries weren't any better. Krysis sighed, and another mech, Excalibur, walked in. "How are they, Krysis?" He asked.
Rex growled at the new comer and at Krysis for touching Charlie. He curled up on the bed resting a head on Charlie's and whimpered.
"Easy, Rex, I know you mean business, but please, there's no need to get violent... especially not with the one who saved your lives..." Krysis gently stroked his head, "It's okay, he's a friend, and neither of us would ever hurt Charlie or Stardust. We'll fight to the death to protect all of you." Krysis said softly, soothing Rex. "I just wish I could've helped Stardust's little friend, and saved his life too..." Excalibur sighed, and checked the vitals of the mares. "At least she'll awake soon, more than I can say for Stardust..." He turned to Rex, "You hungry?"
Rex curled around Charlie's fragile body, keeping her legs in with his tail and his head holding her's. He refused the food by nuzzling Charlie's head more onto his back so she was more comfortable.
"Alright, I see you just want to be with your master. And that's fine, she'll need the friendly company..." Excalibur brought out a data pad, and tapped it a few times, then put it back. "Hey Rex," Krysis said softly, moving closer to him, "Thanks for pulling through, I don't know what Charlie, or Stardust for that matter, would do if you... you know, 'didn't make it?'" Krysis hugged him gently, and left with Excalibur.
Rex fell asleep with Charlie's head resting against his. He purred almost like trying to sing a song to the musical pony. Charlie stirred, her eyes fluttering open. "My back.." she groaned painfully. "Rex, I wanna go home." She felt tears fall from her eyes.
