Training was exhausting. Physically, daily calisthenics left Ecliptic and the other recruits completely drained. They were all too tired to worry about the riots and the fact that they had been taken from their friends and families. Sleepless nights were never a problem. The first day, before training, they had been briefed on why they were here and what was to happen to them. A tired looking mare had said to them, "You have been called upon to serve, you will be trained...and you will become the best we can make of you. It will be difficult and you may want to quit, and some of you may resent us, resent me, for the what I had to do. But I tell you now, with utmost sincerity, that we need you all, to protect Equestria from this rising threat." Ecliptic knew now that it wasn't a pep-speech. He was just glad that intellectual training and combat tactics could be learned through memory spells, allowing them to experience years of training and service in a matter of minutes. It was not a perfect method and had its risks, but it was the best and most efficient given the short time that they had. Repetition was key, and everything had to be duplicated perfectly in the field before moving on. Still, the trainees were virtually cut-off from the rest of the world, and had no idea as to how bad the riots were, and who was winning.
After breakfast, Fire and Dark were called into the briefing room. They walked in to see multiple, high-ranked soldiers standing at a table that had a hologram machine in the middle that showed a map of Equestria. "Aw sweet!" Fire said, "I kind of want a hologram machine now..."
"Alright, here is a map of the current land, with borders drawn." Dark said as a line was drawn across the country, with the cultists having the larger part. "And here are all of our bases." several points lit up, "and these are the destroyed cities." and all the destroyed cities and towns went up in flames. They were about to go on when a messenger stepped in beside Dark and she sighed as she recieved the news, "I'm sorry but I have to go inspect the training bases, I will be back by tonight." and she left the room. Dark stood in a tower overlooking the special forces training area talking with the general who lead the new group, "So how much longer general?" she asked. "Not much, maybe a week or two." he responded confidently. "One to two weeks eh?", the general nodded his head, "Tell me general, do you really think those cultists need this long to train their soldiers? no they don't, and they overwhelmed most of our troops. I want this troops to do absolutely nothing but train, eat, and sleep, and I want them on the field by the end of the week, got that." She said, getting into his face. "Uh, yes mam'!" he said nervously, sweat dripping down his face. "I promise Commander, the first battleion will be ready by the end of the week!" Dark smiled, "Good, now I've got other bases to inspect, so I will be off." Dark started to leave the tower and right before she took off she looked over her shoulder and said, "I will be back, General." and flew off.
The meeting was soon over and Firebreeze left the room. Not really knowing what to do, he went to his bunk to just sit down and think. A high-ranking officer soon approached Firebreeze and said, "You're Commander Firebreeze, right?" Fire looked at him and said, "Maybe in the Resistence I was, but here I'm just a soldier like the rest." "How wonder you like to change that?" The officer replied. Fire looked confused when replying, "Huh?" "Well," The officer began, "We are currently training troops to specialize in heavy weaponry, and given your experience with leading your 'Rough Riders, we would like you to command this new company of heavies." Fire was speechless, he wasn't sure if he was up for this kind of task again. Without thinking, he replied, "I'd... Be honored." "Great!" The officer said, "You'll meet your troops within the next couple of weeks."
I apologize, but you are... *checks calendar* A total of ten months late. May I suggest something more current, such as The New Elements of Harmony or The Aria Timeline?
