Max had finished his sweeping and had gotten his payment from the manager. He was now up on the roof in is shack singing Clint Eastwood loudly. "I ain't happy, i'm feelin' glad, i go' sonshine in a bag! I'm useless, bot not for long the future, is coming on, ye it's coming on." He smiled widely while stumbling around his little shack, which he had built from scrap parts he had found lying around the scrapyard. He sat down in his armchair, feeling the different textures it was made of as he had patched it up whenever it broke. He looked at the lump of money on the table and laughed happily. "ahm bloody rich!" He shouted out. He looked around his shack, which was rough, but it was home nonetheless. "But i woold neva leave ya'!" He exclaimed. He walked out of the shack and sat down, leaning on the chimney the shack was built out of. He shut his eyes and immediately fell to sleep, his top hat covering his eyes as he sunk down.
Fire kicked back his hooves and floated back down to the floor. "No problem. I was just here to see what had been done. No real idea about what was going on, a rift as far as I could tell." He sat down and ajusted his blade to a more easy to grabe position. He looked up to the pony and saw her chainsword. He nodded and looked over it. "Nice sword, how did you get a hold of a beast like that?" He asked, wondering who she was, maybe she was after him but was playing nice so she could catch him off guard.
"Well then something is up, get me first fleet we must go pay our respects. Tell House Kurita to prepare all rites and litanies for their titans and contact the seer councils, that little display he gave is to go viral to all of Nekar," says Rashall, "And get me Lord Inquisitor Moonhunt," that last name made all troops stop dead, if a lord inquisitor was getting involved this meant business. The First Fleet, as it turned out, had been close by surveying the battle after which scouts from multiple chapters had been sent out by the command of their chapter masters, in respect to Rashall's wish, to look for anyting suspicious namely that of demonic or heretical activity they were to report back any findings or photo/video evidence. At Rashall's behest first fleet sailed towards the capital of the External Kingdom, the video had gone viral already of the kindom's lord and his judgement and all a cross Nekar a silent call had been sounded to prepare to repel demonic forces.
"HECULIUS!" Tremalion suddenly yelled into the ear of his little brother, who had been busy stuffing his face. Heculius jumped almost three feet into the air in shock, "Geez brother, you don't have to do that!" He complained, ears were still ringing. "Prepare the troops, we have two problems we might have face. We need tell the Shadow Troopers to be on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary, and put the military on full alert, got it?" Tremalion said. "Of course brother. Might I inquire, why?" Heculius responded, curiosity peaked. "Let's just say I have a feeling something big's is about to happen." Tremalion replied.
"Sir we're 9 minutes out," says the pony at the helm of the Ragnarok. Rashall simply sighs hoping thatTremalion will hear him out before acting to drastically. "Very well inform Nexas that he will be with me as well as Skyblue, Sharkmouth, Nether Wisp, and Emerald Star," says Rashall heading to the main hanger.
"Sir! A large ship is approaching the Citadel!" A scout yelling running into the throne room. Tremalion shook his head, "I told them to leave us! Heculius, come!" The two stepped outside and looked in the direction the scout pointed. "Thank you for you information." Tremalion said before taking off, quickly followed by Heculius.
Rashall and his four companions arrive at the large gate in front of the so called citadel via chariot. "Well then lets hope he greats us face to face like a true leader," says Nexus swaying his thunder hammer from side to side checking his reach. "Oh he will I wouldn't doubt it," says Rashall with a slight smile Nexus always hated these types of things.
Max awoke too see a bright flash infront of him. It was Karl, the pony who had almost killed him. "Oh no, no' you!" He screamed as Karl looked at him with his grey, matte eyes. "I'm here to help you right now." He said to reassure Max that he wasn't gonna redo the scenario that had played out for 5 years ago. "I'm here to tell you that you need to get out of the city. There's gonna be an... event that will shake the town down and most likely get you killed." He said as he looked out over the city from the roof of the building. "You will need this." was all he said before vanishing in another flash of light, leaving a pistol behind him with a holster and 3 magazines, each with 8 bullets in them. Max walked over to the pistol, picked it up and examined each detail of the device. "Hmm... wait, is dis tha gun he 'ried ta kill me with!?" He dropped the gun, shocked over the memories. After a minute of reminiscing of that horrible event, he picked up the gun and the holster, put the gun in the holster and strapped the holster around his side. He put the magazines in his jacket, put the jacket and his top hat and began climbing down from the roof.
Tremalion and Heculius landed atop of the gate, "I know why you come, I have decreed it so, so it shall not change." Tremalion said, storm clouds gathering overhead like usual.
"First of all wrong reason, second of all get down here and talk to me face to face or we're done here," says Rashall without looking up.
"Fine then." Tremalion said, landing with Heculius in front of them. "I have not made any transgressions against your nation, I am merely fulfilling my duty as ruler of this nation."
"Sir enemy Reavers spotted coming out of a dark zone only three miles from where that gate we destroyed was," says the sensorium over the vox. Enemy Titans here? This was a big push indeed a council member must be here somewhere. Rashall switches the vox over till he reaches Ironmane, "My Lord?" Says Ironmane on the vox bead. "Titans are to walk," says Rashall, "To the location given by the Ragnarok two enemy Reavers in the zone take them down." "Your will, Titans are walking with ground, ariforces will evac any civies in the zone, out," says Ironmane. Rashall sighs at least the civies would get out in time.
"What's going on?" Heculius asked. "If you need to get anywhere in my kingdom, you will need my permission." Tremalion said.
Rashall didn't have time to answer as the vox bead in his ear burst to life. "Contacts! Idelator class destroyers inbound, I count five! Two enemy drop frigates as well Rashall you're going to get very busy down there. The fleet will engage and destroy I'll drop the remaing squads asap good luck and may Sigmar guide you," says Ikan. True to his word the reamining dragon guard teleports in along with the other aspect wariorrs, Skyblue's unit flies in and they take to the sky to fight off any enemy air. "Tremalion get the civilians into the Citadel now! We'll deal with the enemy," says Rashall running off towards the battle.
Tremalion nodded, "Storms give you strength." and he flew off with Heculius, voice booming over the city. "CITIZENS OF STORM CITY, EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY TO THE CITADEL. ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL WILL BE EXPECTED TO OVERSEE THE EVACUATION AND MAN THE CITY DEFENSES!"
"I'll have you know, this is no sword! I have a standard-issue bone saw that is meant for medical, or in this case combative purposes. Anyways, I'm sorry for wasting your time, I really should get ba-" Heartburn cut off as she felt the ground shudder behind her. "Wha?" She said as she turned around. Staring directly into the thing that had just landed behind her, she opened her mouth and screamed.
The old guard had joined Rashall in the main court yard of the city, these where his closest friends and together the enemy was falling in droves. Oddly enough the enemy were golems not actual heretics, though it made sense, gloems never went against orders but they feel never the less. The ancient forms of Brother Venerius and Brother Stormblade, their massive dreadnaught bodies where in the press of enemies their close combat arms decimating hundreds of golems. The others where haveing a bit harder time not being incased in the form of an ancient dreadnaught but they all fought the same. Soon other squads from the ships came to them hearding civilians through, the Storm Talons raced at tree top level destroying any golems trying to get at the civilians heels. It was at the court yard that the line would be drawn then. Raising his head up to the clouds Rashall shouted into the dusk, "In the name of the Living and those above no enemy passes this line!" The a new wave of fire ripped out of the line as the call was taken up by a thousand more voices more coming every minute.
Storm clouds started to form over the enemy army, "I SHALL NOT ALLOW YOU ANY FURTHER!" Echoed from the clouds. Then the storm of the ages was unleashed upon the golems, but didn't even affect those fighting them. Tornadoes, huge hail, extreme winds, and just about any kind of dangerous weather fell upon them, while Tremalion in the sky in the clouds directed the storm.
It came just as Rashall knew it would the Reaver, a third from the gate further north appeared to be trying to skirt around the storm to no avail. Rashall smiled and clicked the vox bead twice signaling the ambush that had been set from the beginning. The warhound titan Timberwolf ran out from behind a hill that the enemy Reaver had just passed the allied warhound got in close, very close and shot once with it's lightning cannons straight into the face of the Reaver. The Reavers head exploded in a million different fragments and the rest of its body soon followed the warhound stood tall and proud defient of any enemy fire directed at it bellowing its warhorn into the dusk. At the destruction of the Reaver the golems began to fall back inch by inch and Rashall saw his chance. "Angels advancing fullisade," says Rashall walking forwards as does the rest of the line firing into the retreating golems.
Max hid to the dark alleys, trying not to get caught by the evacuaters as he knew that it wouldn't help to stand still, he needed to get out of town. "Karl was right, there is something happening..." He quietly muttered as he bolted pass a guard as it walked pass the alley. Looking behind him, he started trotting in to the alley, only to be met with a stone wall. Suddenly, he saw a light behind him and a guard saying, "Hey you! Come with us as fast as possible!" He slowly turned around, grapping his broom. "Sir, what are you doing?" He then proceeded to swipe the ground, creating a heavy cloud of dust, blocking the guards field of view. "Sir! What are you doing!? We need to get you to the Citadel!" He heard the guard shout as he jumped down on the other side of the wall. "I'm no' comin' with you, ya blokes!" He shouted to the guards, and started to gallop away, out the alley, and took a hard right, bolting straight for the borders of the city.
