The crew gathered around and Anya looked up nervously as Stephanie entered. "I apologize Ms. Regelsi," she said quietly. "You're going to have to return to the chamber." Anya stood immediately, shaking her head. "No," she said, panic tinging her voice. "I won't. You can't make me." "We have ways, your Highness."
Stephanie's head jerked over at the same time as Anya's did and she drew her gun, narrowing her eyes. "Who's there?"
A large, black creature erupted from the cargo, it's long body inky and insect like, similar to a giant centipede as it bared pinschers dripping with poison. It went in for a lunge at Stephanie.
She squinted for a moment before the centipede froze in space in front of the crew. Anya's palms were pressed together and her eyes glowed slightly. "Captain," she said quietly, "would you mind opening the airlock compartment?" Stephanie turned to look, one brow raised critically before she moved, opening the door. Anya's pointer fingers separated and the centipede flew through the air, thrown into the compartment. Stephanie closed the door behind it.
Basel was quiet, watching the interaction intently. He waited to see reactions, standing toward the back of the crowd.
Stephanie turned to Anya, one brow raised critically. Anya separated her palm and looked up at Stephanie as well. "What was that?" Stephanie demanded. "You have been refusing to use your abilities so far." Anya hesitated, her brow furrowing. "I was threatened," she replied after a moment. "It became accessible to me." Stephanie squinted before turning to Basel. "What was that, Mr. Tremont?"
Basel frowned, looking over at her. "It appeared to be an alien force from our last journey on a planet. It much have snuck on a bit ago. They start out quite small."
She frowned, clearly conflicted before speaking again. "Mr. Tremont, I would like you to do a full analysis of Ms. Regelsi's powers. Leave no stone unturned."
Basel relaxed, nodding slightly. "I will. And I would also like to use the centipede as a specimen. It has interesting armor qualities I think we could use."
Stephanie glanced at the creature in the airlock before sighing. "I see. Perhaps you could use the transport of the specimen as a test for Ms. Regelsi's abilities."
She hesitated before looking over at Basel. She didn't look worried, so much, but she looked almost shy and as she looked at Basel, he would get the strange impression that she was looking to him for some comfort. "I suppose... I mean... you will put me back in the Container if I refuse, so I suppose I could..."
Stephanie gestured slightly towards the door, her brow furrowed. "You should start that, then," she said sharply. "We need to decide if we want our royal friend to stay with us."
She did, casting another nervous look at the rest of the room before following him. Stephanie turned to the rest of the crew. "You may return to your duties," she said curtly.
He returned to the lab, heading inside where he took a seat. "Fortunately the plan worked. Now we have more time."
